Hey Tony! Really love your story and heard Jersey then heard blueberries. I was trying to guess where it was and could only think of HAMntn (purposely obscured city name). As soon as you said AC I said OH SHIT I have to say Hi. When I was a early teen I would stand on the boardwalk in ventor trying to make contacts on a radio shack handheld. Anyways... I went to old Trenton Ave HS. Lived over in Chelsea Heights. Live in Neb now. Got older and loved talking trash up the WHP. Eventually came across ham radio when a neighbor demo'd a phone patch.

I will say this I ordered a N line section connector about a year ago from Tony and it wasn’t 20min after I placed the order my phone rang, caller ID says Egg Harbour, NJ 🤔 I answer and he tells me hey this connector you ordered I’ve got legit Bird pulls, they’re 100% but they are used, I can save you a bunch over the one you ordered, or I can send you what’s on the order it’s up to you….straight up honest dude who truly cares about his customers and not just about his money! Because he could’ve pocketed the extra $20 he saved me on that connector and he also saved me on the shipping so I saved like $45 over the whole original order cost 😎👍

All they did was build an external input and output tank circuit….thats all it was, look at a board in a amp, Rf comes in goes to the input combiner circuit, 100ohm resistors and the input cap, the coax leads come out and run to the input stages of the 2 or 4 or 8 pill sections depending on how the amp is made and what size it is, the rf comes out of the output transformers to the output combiner, ring of 100ohms, output tuner to the output side of the relay out to the so239….they basically built a 320 pill box in 10 different cabinets externally combined on the input and output sides

Why are Suburbans the vehicle of choice and not say cargo vans?
@spaceflight1019
10 ай бұрын
I could never figure that one out. 50 years ago there was a guy called Razorback who had a Corvair van with two 102" whips on the roof! With the amplifiers of the time he had no trouble talking to his family in Arkansas...or anywhere else! Consider this: at 746 watts per horsepower the amp makes 93 horsepower at 70,000 watts. It probably takes 185 to 200 horsepower to make that power. Plus, RF energy is dangerous. Old hams ran 1000 watts out into ladder lines. Most of those old guys wore their pants up to their armpits and died from leukemia, lung cancer, and brain cancer. Their wives died in the same ways.

Frequency: Shortwave diathermy uses a frequency ranging from 3 to 30MHz Usually a frequency of 27.12 MHz and a wavelength of 11 meters is used. Currents of such high frequencies do not stimulate sensory or motor nerves nor do they produce any muscle contraction. Shortwave diathermy can either be Continuous shortwave diathermy (CSWD). Pulsed shortwave diathermy (PSWD). Continuous short-wave diathermy: has a thermal effect more than pulsed, so it is generally used for its thermal effects whereas pulsed short-wave diathermy has athermal effects.
