Cú Chulainn was born in Knockbridge Co Louth at this point named Setanta. But he moved up to Ulster where he became Cú Chulainn. At this time prior to popular belief for some reason there was no Northern Ireland as this was way before even Catholic intruduction to Ireland. At this time Ireland and Scotland spoke the same language, Goidelic aka Old Irish or Sean Gaelige. Back to the point Cú Chulainn probably wouldn't sound like a modern Nordy because the Ulster Plantation never happened so there was no Scottish influence on the accent so he'd have most likely sounded like a Leitrim man or something like that. After proof of Actual armed Norse women warrior bodies found with heavy weapon use showing on the bones. And tons of women bodies from Japanese Battlefields I now taking as totally true all ancient women warrior tales. In Japan they have records of ten's of thousands of women fighters making up a significant minority of many armies in the Warring State period. And they gave as good as they took vs the men by all the accounts. How? Same way small men beat massively larger men on the battlefield and some small men ruled the battlefield in some cases. Martial arts, flexibility and endurance beating raw power and attack range. And Japanese and Eastern marial sword and martial arts focus on calmness gives an advantage to the ones without testosterone.

When I was reading through the Hellsing manga, Alexander Anderson's irish accent made me want to blow my brains out. It was so painful to read.😂

These are specifically Ulster accents, spoken in Northern Ireland, Doneghal, and border regions of Cavan and Monaghan. The Ulster dialects have actually got a lot of Scottish elements, due to the Ulster plantation of the 1600s, when lots of Scottish settlers were planted in the region by the British government. Most Irish people don't sound like this.

God I want to see a fandub of ubw with this kind of logic behind it. As serious as can be, but all tension is completely ruined by the accents.

I feel like English dubs need to embrace accents more, it makes the characters so interesting and distinguishable just by speaking alone. It’s one of my favorite things about shows like Castlevania. Whenever a character came from a different part of the world, their accent matched their region. I loved hearing it and it only added to their uniqueness and character!

It's actually quite difficult for US dubbing companies to pull off well. If they want to do a character with an accent that's outside of the United States, they generally need to find voice actors who are either from the region, but based near the recording studio, or get a US actor to do the accent - which can sound GHASTLY if done wrong.

@@solarpunkcyborg4663 Dubbing organisations don't like to play with others that's why you get off fake accents because they don't want to reach out.

As an irishman born and raised in America, the more I focus on the words the less I understand- but if I just relax and don't try to understand, I understand every word perfectly...

It honestly bothers me more anime dub dont commit to accents like this when theyre supposed to. Like honestly I couldnt even watch Burn the Witch dubbed cause theyre supposed to be in fuckin London but literally every single person has an american accent. Really big fan of how they got several Spanish Voice actors for One Piece dressrosa arc

Context: These characters are the Irish folk heroes Cu Chulainn and Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, so the video is putting them to audio of a couple guys with heavy Northern Irish accents having a conversation (in English, believe it or not).
