For nearly a century, the record store chain "Sam the Record Man" has been a mainstay in Canada, lighting up city streets with its iconic record-shaped signs.
Started in the 1930s by Sam Sniderman in Toronto, the chain was once the largest music recording retailer in the country with 140 locations. But in the face of changing ways to buy music over the past 20 years, only one lone store remains at the Quinte Mall in Belleville, Ont.
Now, its future is in question, as the owners say they're retiring after 45 years. But the community of dedicated music lovers have not given up hope.
