I have seen this video several times. In rehab. These lectures are still very insightful today. They were incredible the first time I saw them almost 40 years ago! Today, After some time on the inside, I'm clean and sober for well over 20 years... Father Martin was an awesome man.. An an amazing public speaker. If you're struggling: Don't give up! If you're loved one has these issues -this can help and don't you give up either..

1:05:14 first saw this 44 years ago while working as a substance abuse social worker on Long Island. I never get tired of watching it over and over through the years. I wrote him a letter back then in 1979 about how awesome this video was and he wrote a beautiful letter back to me. I still have it now.

I have spent 31 plus years in recovery quoting so many of the things Father Martin said to help me. I had the opportunity, like so many others, to thank him personally in Austin, Texas. Thanks again....life has been sweet!

Saw his videos in rehab a few months ago. I am still struggling with the issue. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. I wish I realized before it was too late what my drinking was doing to me.

deceptively simple explanation What is so deceptively about him or what he is talking about. This is the truth about alcoholism and what it can do. So anybody who thinks this is not the truth you have no idea of what you are talking about, and are probably a journalist who has to attack anybody who is not like them.
