Lyrics have never been his strong suit...listen to the musicality in this and tell me it's not light-years ahead of typical rap songs out right now! If you want deep lyrics go listen to College Dropout or Graduation but just know most of those songs had ghostwriters and Kanye's never been secretive about that 😏

I don't disagree with you. Maybe even go further to say that the lyrics do the great music a diservice.

Agreed! When it came out I was very disappointed in a lot of the lyrics or lack thereof on this album, then I realized that this was Kanye's IDGAF moment after he's done pretty much everything there is in rap lol He knows he will never be as thought provoking as Kendrick or even Chance The Rapper and he's fine with that as long as his music sounds beautiful and he's having fun with the tracks people seem to eat it up! It does leave you wanting more from him after all the lush AND lyrical works in his catalog but the truth is that was never Kanye writing those bars and now unfortunately I think a lot of this new material is coming from his warped reality lol

The life of Pablo is the result of everything's Kanye's ever done, the album is perfect example of how he uses the human voice as his instrument, if you think about the tracks they use the human voice one way or another, people have compared Jesus walks and ultralight beams as his best work and both use the gospel sounds. As for his lyrics, Kanye has spit some amazing lyrics over his 7 albums and beyond, but I do think he's almost running out of things to say at times. He is undeniably a genius however

Marcus I think it's the arrangement.....We need better arrangements of our up tempo and grove songs, tbh, most of em are dry and lack the intensity I need to get excited about them...Almost mechanical with no feeling, but again, I feel its more the arrangement than the students.....
