As I got older I saw that my dad has never healed from his trauma and lived his whole life in survival mode. Solution: We can give low earning married couples free income tax. This eliminates welfare culture and promotes healthy family dynamics, it also preemptively tackles single motherhood consequences on children like: Higher incarceration rates, Higher mental health vulnerability. Worse predictions for personal relationship success. Lower projections for education. 100x more likely to be abused by a step parent. More likely to live in poverty. More likely to have addiction problems. Given these known hazards on the next generation it is reasonable to suggest that this is the biggest crisis the west faces and there are solutions that get ignored.

@@LotusHart01 Although monogamy is important in a relationship, and couples do break up their families because of infidelity, the children should not have to suffer because their parents hate each other. I do not know about other people but I loved and even though he is nolonger alive , I still love my Father . He taught me self - discipline , responsibility and independent thinking . Although he was not always present at home because of his work I am grateful to him for the time he devoted to me and my siblings . In my opinion the role of the father in the proper development of the child is very important , I confirm that . However , men who decide to start family and have offspring must be really responsible because from what I know not every man has predisposition to be a father just as not every woman is predisposed to be a motherc. I mean here not only the physical aspect but above all the aspect of MENTAL MATURITY . Father should be caring and be able to provide a dignified existence for his family and most of all his time . Time and dedication. ( The same goes for the mother .) From what I saw snd what I know is that not everyone deserves to be a mother or a father .

Fatherlessness has nothing to do with this. I'm from India and was raised by my single mother when my dad died ar the age of 32 and mom was just 30. Lack of family values, lack of discipline, lack of respect for elders, not prioritizing education is the main issue. Also the govt interfering into other countries rather than focusing on its own people. My mom suffered a lot,was strict and we three kids are successful now. Many Americans bring up their children rather more freely with less discipline. And also there is very less community support when someone suffers hardship.

That's a small percentage of what occurs in these situations. We have a system which rewards and incentivizes women to be single mothers which in turn punishes and forces single fathers away from their children. And that's just one aspect of the issue. There is a small percentage of shitty men like you mention, but I bet 99.9% of those men grew up in the fatherless culture our society is promoting. They are the end result of the system. But child support makes state govts billions each cycle, and multi billions for the family court system and attorneys who write the laws and promote the system.

It's not just feminism. My ex-husband grew up in a 2 parent home, so he experienced what having his parents under the same roof. Fast forward, he (exhusband) abandoned us his family to make house with another women and another man's children. He left behind a 12 year old girl and 5 year old boy, who loved his dad. When he was leaving he said, " the kids will be ok." My son at 24 copes with abandonment issues. Breaks my heart.

Having a kid (and getting married) is 100% on you. I f'in hate when ppl bitch about having kids. I get it's a struggle and consumes your life...but you chose to do that lol. None of these cause fatherless homes. Men were abandoning their families long before these things were in place or running around impregnating women. Nick Cannon is a prime example. None of what you’ve listed is keeping him out of the home. A lot of men lack sexual discipline or a sense of responsibility to anyone other than themselves. Women are now learning to stop dealing with most and having higher standards resulting in the declining birth rate and the “rise of lonely men” article outcomes. Also, nothing is stopping men from changing policies and the law. The majority of judges, lawyers, politicians, etc are men. Men could change things if they really wanted to.

Family Courts share in this responsibility. A man is automatically in a financial hole at the start and primary custody is defaulted to the mother. 50/50 this or that language is meaningless if there is no enforcement or accountability. Like it or not this leads to less involvement by a father because in the end we’re powerless. It could be better, but who’s going to change the system or mindset?

And yes, often the mother is established custodial environment, although it can just as often be the father - in which case the court will lean slightly toward him re: any real custodial dispute. The court does not ever gaf about you or what’s in your pants. It is about the division of debts and assets and the well being of the child. You are not a lawyer.

At any moment your wife can summon the power of the state to strip you of all the benefits. We can’t expect men to just willing walk into the meat grinder until laws change. This isn’t going to happen, so marriage will only head down from here.
