Happy New Year 2022!
Here's my transcription of Fats' classic piano solo from 1929 of one of his own tunes, I've Got A Feeling I'm Falling. This is actually take 2 from a total of 3 takes from a prolific Friday afternoon piano solo recording session that included Ain't Misbehavin', Sweet Savannah Sue, Love Me Or Leave Me, Gladyse (refer to my previous video for this transcription) and Valentine Stomp. A memorable session indeed!
The solo features Fats in a sort of Broadway-style "song-plugging" mode, featuring rich voicings, sophisticated harmonies and lots of sparkling embellishments of the melody. His use of forward and backward tenths in the left hand adds to the propulsive swing and richness of the harmonies. The abrupt surprise ending reflects Fats' wicked sense of fun and irreverence.
These are the "notes" as best I can make out. But there's so much more in Fats' performance than just the "notes". So as always, please listen to the original recording as the ultimate performance reference:

A few months earlier Fats played along wth the orchestral accompaniment to crooner Gene Austin's recording of the song, in a very different and restrained style of playing:
