I never really cared much about sunscreen. I live in a tropical island that is sunny all year round and no one seems to care much about sunscreen on the daily if not at the beach. You have made me see just how important it is and now I'm kind of obsessed with sunscreens. Now I never go out in the sun without it. thanks, Renee. I'm proud of my lil' collection.

The Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild SPF 50 PA++++ is a very underrated sunscreen. It has perfect texture (when dried as you mentioned) and it doesn't have alcohol and only contains chemical filters which are safe. I hope more people will use this sunscreen to ensure that they don't suddenly drop the product line.

I’m African and I get that “glow in the dark” finish with the avene emulsion spf 50. So if you’re a POC, the avene emulsion spf 50 wouldn’t give you an invisible finish. On the other hand, I use it under makeup and it’s lovely.

Garcia Elisha it's not bad. Feels nice going on, but once it dries down, it doesn't feel moisturizing. It's hydrating though. For light to medium skin tones. I have the slightest cast, it's really not that bad on my light-tan skin tone. It's unfortunate that it does leave a cast on darker skin tones

Thanks Renee. Always interesting to get reviews on sunscreens from other places. If you ever get a chance to check out Aussie sunscreens we have all the European filters legal here apart from 1 I believe and sometimes used with zinc that we've had for years. Though there are still those that use older chemical filters as well so you have to be diligent. Issue is they don't have to list non sunscreen ingredients as it is considered a therapeutic (drug). Would like access to some of those sunscreens in your review to try. The European ones they have here are often alcohol based and the Korean ones aren't that easy to find.

I work in a pharmacy in Spain and I have exciting news for the Avene line. They have reformulated most of the is sunscreens, specially the facial ones, to be more eco friendly and more importantly better cosmetically. The packaging is going to change to a cylinder with a pump (like lots of make up bases) and it's going to have a bit of silicone (at least in the emulsion), so they dry a lot more matt and perfect as a primer for makeup. And they will continue to be great for sensitive skins. You have to try them. I use Avene sunscreen every day and I am counting days to try the reformulated sunscreens.

Great suggestions, I will keep an eye for them! My current favourite sunscreens are the Nuxe Melting cream SPF50 or Delicious cream SPF30 (if you don't mind fragarance), the Frezyderm Velvet Face Cream SPF 30 or 50 and the Avene Cleanance Solaire SPF30 (the 50 gets too "whitecasty"). Your videos are truly great, so informative, balanced and professional. Thank you sooo much for informing me on Shiseido Anessa Essence UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild SPF 35 PA+++ OMG after years of trying to find a sunscreen that ticked all the boxes I feel I finally have and would have never of guessed it would be a Japanese one. But after researching finding out that the Japanese sunscreens are far superior than any American and yes, even European ones. After many soul searching trials and many errors I almost gave up hope on the sunscreen quest... This sunscreen arrived one week later beautifully packaged from Japan via Amazon website. Wow this stuff is amazing, how a physical sunscreen hybrid that disappears on application thats easy to spread, that's hydrating but yet mattifying, waterproofing, that's bullet proofing but while being gentle on the skin is beyond me.... You are so right with using a hybrid that offers the most broad spectrum protection and this one is incredibly balanced with long lasting really photo stable formula which also really works with sensitive skins. This is a great everyday wear sunscreen and the gold version Milder SPF 50 PA ++++ which I haven't tried yet being more for summer wear or when doing workouts, beach, water sports and being out in hot intense sun. Thanks again for your Fab videos and letting the world 🌎 know about this gem 💎 of a sunscreen which is pretty much holy grail stuff... 😇🤗

Where in your skin care routine use it? As an essence after toner or as a late step after moistureizer?

I use avene! I have oily and acne prone skin. I like it because it does not cause breakout on my skin and it's matte. But it leaves a whitecast so I'm still looking another brand. But since it has renee approval, I'm probably gonna stick with it. 😁

This is the exact video I wanted to watch from you. I was on the verge of requesting but that felt awkward. Ha! Thanks for the upload!

You did not mention about Biore watery essence at all, while I really want to know your opinion about it. I love Skin Aqua, I have been using it for years. I am thinking about trying new Korean sunscreen, this video is really helpful for me. Love the lip balm review, as well. Thank you, XOXO!

I ordered the Watery Essence and it irritated my skin. The fragrance and alcohol was too much. Returning it

it broke me out D: i love the anessa spf which is a chemical spf but the biore was horrible, didn't feel light at all (if you use the actual right amount)

Biore actually have loads of sunscreen, which one breaks you out tho? I notice that alcohol is high up in the ingredient list in some of their sunscreen

Renee are you a chemist or doctor? Your knowledge surrounding these chemical agents is very industry specific...💯😁

Your sunscreen recommendations have been spot on for me. I just purchased the MDSolarsciences body spray you recommended in your other video. Wearing the Anessa one today for face. Just loving it. There are so many options and I've been disappointed with some Korean sunscreens that can be a little whitening or heavy feeling. Thank you for making it easier to get great sun protection that looks and feels wonderful as well.
