Carmen is up and growing for my sweet peppers for freezing this year. So nice to have them waiting for me and not having to purchase from the store. I was a fan of Gurneys triple delight, but I talked myself out of the $10 seed packet this year. I also like my peppers to be close together like you mentioned too. Last season I put in anchored rebar type stakes and did an open Florida weave of sorts. Thanks to your advice, I think I’ll be putting my netting towards this use! Wish I would have ordered the Jimmy Nardello peppers. I think it was Guajilio peppers we had last season that worked well for drying and grinding for powder. Thanks again for sharing your faves and sound information!

My favorite ultra sweet peppers are Melrose, Corbaci and Habanada. I really like Lunchbox, Carmen and Jimmy Nardello. Thanks for your video!

I always grow some Carmen peppers. I probably like them more than Bell's. I grabbed a couple starter plants at a greenhouse center called Yummy they are probably similar to Lunchbox varieties. I really enjoy your channel. From the son picking dad's brain to the techniques and knowledge shared.

You're welcome and we'll probably do a video on the netting idea this summer, that way everyone can see how it works. I'm very anxious to try it out!

Great video. I use hazelnut trimmings to stake my peppers with but it doesnt always work. I think I have some leftover nylon netting for flowers that I will try this year, especially for the Mad Hatter and Big Bertha peppers, they tend to sprawl all over the place. Have you ever tadted the Mad Hatters? They're just a tad bit hot.

We tried Mad Hatters years ago, but the hot peppers we like are the varieties with the most utility - that are most useful in food. 😊

Interesting! Your favorite tomatoes were orange varieties and your favorite pepper is orange. Me thinks you like orange 😁

Great observation! Certainly not planned that way! Just wait until we publish our favorite cherry tomato variety... 😂 (Luke)

@@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork I can’t wait. I tried Sungold last year, and it was very sweet but suffered a bit from cracking, but there’s so many cherry tomatoes, it’s not really a problem. I am trying Sunsugar this year which is supposed to be as sweet but not susceptible to cracking as much. Blessings!

The pepper taste/texture primarily, but also plant yields, disease resistance and hardiness. All of these are our opinions, and you're free to make your own. 😊

Can you use seeds from grocery store for the lunchbox peppers?

Lunchbox peppers is a variety, not just a type or size, but if you find a store that actually sells that variety you sure could save the seeds and grow them.
