Eleanor and Park is actually amazing. It hits on topics such as body image, abuse, and bullying so beware of that if it triggers you. All in all though the story is just so sad yet sweet and ugh ❤️

I really like your book recommendations because your speaking is so clear ad easy to watch. And you just not only gush about a book with only superlatives but also say something about it and you are not just recommending a book because it is one of the most popular but because you really love it . That's something every reader can relate to . One only recommends a book when they love it with all their heart.

I read the Perks of Being a Wallflower before I started my freshman year of high school and I loved it then. I just reread it (after my freshman year of college) and I loved it even more. They were two completely different but profound experiences.

I definitely found Cath super relatable in Fangirl. I really identified with how she was portrayed as a college freshman, since she and I had very similar experiences. Happy to see it on this list!

I agree so much with what you said about The Perks of Being a Wallflower! I also read it when I was a freshman in high school and I still look back at it as one of the most formative experiences of my life. Even now that I'm 19 I still get caught in thoughts and feelings that I can't really tell are mine or come from this book (if that makes sense)

hi, i am young and aspiring to be an author when i am older. i often feel like when i write (i don't write fanfics, i post my original stories online) my stories are never good enough and people will think that they are stupid. but when i listen to you describe settings of books, i imagine you describing my books, and i feel like i can really write what i want.

'We all looked up' by Tommy Wallach had a similar effect on me like 'The Perks of being Wall Flower' did on you, so I highly recommend it. Your videos are so amazing, thank you sm for existing.

That made me laugh that you said that contemporary books are for spring and summer cause I specifically saved Aristotle and Dante for this past summer. You should definitely try reading 'The Sky is Everywhere' and 'I'll Give You the Sun' by Jandy Nelson, they are both phenomenal YA contemporary books and are certainly worth a look at.

Out of the books you mentioned, I've only read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but the rest of them are all on my tbr and I'm excited to get to them! I'm a huge fan of Sarah Dessen, so I definitely recommend any of her books. The first one I read was Just Listen, so that one will probably always be my favorite of hers!

You definitely made me add a few ones to my "to read" list with this video ^^, but I'm glad :) Without any originality, I loved The fault in our stars. As for the french books, I highly, like VERY, VERY HIGHLY recomend Oh boy! by Marie-Aude Murail. This is a very famous author who has the ability to write books for children and for YA that speak to adults as well.

I don't know if you've read them, but judging by this list I know you will love them: All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven and I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. Two of my all time favorite contemporaries. They are both very thought provoking and unique and, yes, sad, but full of hope and important messages about life :)
