Great great video and such a wonderful idea. Trying to help - To Marina, thats not an Anthurium Bakeri. Its very different from the plant that she has, because bakeri has long leaves like an Anthurium Friedrichsthalii and that plant is a different story. For you Roos, your Metallicum looks more a Cirinoi (or a hybrid of a cirinoi x marmoratum). Metallicum and marmoratum has deep visual veins but with Cirinoi they almost fade like yours.
@plantwithroos

Thank you! I bought mine from what I thought was a trusted seller but turned out it wasn't. When I asked her she said 'oh it could have been something else, I had a baby marmoratum as well.' Didn't seem like she cared at all but that's why I thought it could be marmoratum. Either way, now I sold it to someone who has more love your it than me 👌🏻😍

Yay…one of my favorite genus… here in Indonesia is indeed very confusing about the naming, because they have been around for such a long time and they flower all year round. Pollinated by themselves, or by wind, or by animals. I stopped caring about the naming, but buy them based on their looks. 🤣🤣🤣

The Anthurium that Marina had as bakeri is actually an Anthurium gracile! They love to produce inflorescences from a very young age and are known to self pollinate A LOT!

@millennialplanter I hope you see this 👌🏻❤️
@notverynotoriousg5674

haha, i just dropped this comment, bakeri self-pollinates freely too, but the leaves are considerably more strappy, the collective vein is very pronounced even on seedlings, the leaves look like a tooled belt, scandens is a great little self-pollinator too, there is one that is similar to scandens that is native to Florida, can't remember the name offhand. I love my self-pollinators, they aren't the showiest, but with the berries they do have a fun tropical vibe.

Why did Sam have that bag over what seemed to be an inflorescence?

I don't know, maybe go catch the seeds? I didn't see it
@hoyahole4850

I use them to help prevent accidental pollination from occurring! With bugs and airflow in a small enclosed environment, pollen from one inflorescence can inadvertently cross to another so this helps reduce that likelihood. I've heard of people using them to catch seeds too but by the time the seeds are ready to collect I'm usually so impatient checking them that they never have time to fall completely off haha! :D
