This might be weird but the most nostalgic scent to me is the scent of the thick Nivea cream, you know the one in those flat blue tins? It’s the only moisturizer my mom uses so every time I smell it on someone else, it reminds me of my mom ^_^

Peaches and lemons are some of my most memorable scents. Peaches, because I remember my grandpa bringing peaches all the way from Virginia, hand picked by him in his garden, to my family in Illinois to enjoy. When I was in hospital, I ate peaches with yogurt and granola for breakfast everyday, and it was my favorite part of the day. Lemons because lemonade from my childhood, drinking it on hikes during lunch or on a float trip from CapriSuns. Always wearing peach body spray (perfume is too much for my dad and I, we are allergic) with a matching body cream or a lemon body cream

@@aislinnbates7806 I have found Jo Malone's Orange Blossom to be the truest orange blossom fragrance. It isn't too sweet and retains the citrusy nature of that flower, which makes it my favourite scent. Another one I like is L'Occitane's Neroli & Orchidée, which is a smoother, softer fragrance than the Jo Malone one. Diptyque's Eau des Sens and Lancome's O de L'Orangerie might be worth a try as well. I'd be glad to hear about what you've tried so far. 😊

Smells do truly invoke so many memories, I don't think I can ever smell a pot of Ponds cold cream ever again without thinking of my late grandmother. I tend to gravitate towards woodsy, dark leathery smells but I've come to realise it's because my mum always wears those kind of perfumes and she has unintentionally dictated my tastes in scents as well! Occasionally something like a hit of sandalwood, mango, or night-flowering jasmine will remind me of childhood holidays, and I'll crave the scent for days after, but as a rule of thumb, I probably smell of tea, leather, cedar, and sandalwood. Still on a hunt for a signature perfume, although I don't think I'll be able to commit! DS & Durga's Burning Barbershop and almost all of Le Labo smells like heaven to me.

My absolute favorite scent is jasmine! This has been my favorite scent since I was a child and have always gravitated toward perfumes that heavily feature jasmine. But jasmine gained extra meaning when my husband and I went on our honeymoon to Paris and Rome in the Spring of 2018. Both cities had jasmine everywhere! We saw multi-story buildings and massive walls covered with it everywhere we went and the scent permeated the entire trip. Now we have a lovely jasmine bush in front of our house, so I smell that lovely scent every day.

I spent the following decade wearing exclusively that scent, even when I moved away from Brazil I would beg anyone who came to visit to bring me a bottle. Rose is one of my favorite scents as well. I grow English Roses in my garden because I love them so much, and they just make my life so much better. I love going out first thing in the morning and smelling them. One of my strongest scent memories is wet dirt/sage brush. I used to spend part of every year at my aunt's house in Nevada, and there would sometimes be massive thunderstorms out in the desert. Getting ready in the morning and choosing which scent to wear always gives me the impression that I can actually build myself into the woman I want to be for the day. Job interview? Glossier You. Night out with friends? Widdringtonia layered with vanilla. Night in? By The Fireplace by Maison Margiela. Summer day out? Versace's Vanitas. I could go on, but I'd be geeking out again. My mom got this blueberry reed infuser as a birthday gift when I was in high school and it made the entire house smell like it for weeks. It was the time when I was really obsessed with a show and I would draw the entire day. I randomly remember it sometimes and miss it.

My favourite scents are Orange and tuberose. I associate tuberose with my childhood memory of weddings. We use Tuberose and red rose garlands in our culture and I remember playing as a kid in weddings and the amazing scent of tuberose garlands. I have come to love that scent so much. More people need to try it out. I have tried Kim Kardashian's tuberose and jasmine perfume which smells good but not as good as fresh tuberose flowers. I also love the taste and smell of fresh oranges. They have a delicious citrusy sweet smell. I have tried orange scents and essential oils but nothing comes close to freshly picked oranges.

I can't really say what's nostalgic since I'm only fourteen, turning fifteen next month, but I absolutely love florals. Not the sickly, clear plastic tablecloth and rough cloth couches that mess up the posture kind that are at Grandma's house, but something truly androgynous, despite how feminine florals are. I absolutely adore the British rose line from the body shop, and can't go a day without having Jaipur by Boucheron as my scent, it's a lovely balance between feminine jasmine and rose, and woody and spicy notes like cedar and cinnamon

For me I think my biggest scent memories are associated with either vanilla or eucalyptus! Vanilla reminds me of baking with my mother, and eucalyptus reminds me of the bath oil my mom would let me and my sister use if we'd just gotten better from a flu or a cold, and she'd make us have baths to relax a bit. Both are very happy memories :)

Thank you heaps for the Native tip. I started having issues with aluminum based antiperspirants about two years ago and a lot of standard deodorants make my underarms peel. I gave native a try once but was upset with the oil stains it was leaving on my work clothes. I gave it another go, applying sparingly as you recommend, and I’m smelling fresh or not smelling at all by the end of the day now. No more b.o., greased clothes, or peeling armpits!

Lavender, rose, rosemary and wisteria are all sentimental for me because I grew up with them in the garden :) When I was little I have a vague memory attaching my mum's friend to this little ceramic pot with a cork in the top that always smelled of something fragrant. Then a couple years ago working in a cosmetics shop I smelled a new Juniper body wash and instantly thought of that pot and realised it must be juniper which is nostalgic to me. And I was given a small bottle of Revlon Pink Happiness perfume when I was a teenager. Because it was travel-sized and slim, I took it and used it for the first time on National Youth Science Forum which was a 12-day trip interstate before Year 12, which I still look on as the start of the rest of my life, it was life-changing and amazing and the Post-NYSF-Depression was real. Later that year I took that bottle of perfume on Year 12 Retreat and when I smelled it on myself on the first day of that retreat I damn nearly cried from how strong and longed-for the memory of NYSF was. These memories remind me of the movie Anastasia when she is reunited with her grandmother and she smells peppermint as she walks past, and recalls a memory that only she and her grandmother could have known :)

Hi there, a new subscriber here! I really love the format of your videos, it’s so clean and fresh. I’m also a eucalyptus and mint kind of girl too here! I’m more into eucalyptus as it’s so refreshing and familiar too-and also a bit masculine in scent, not a fan of overly floral scents. Back home in Indonesia we grew up slathering eucalyptus rubbing oil on our chest and stomach when we have cold symptoms, bloating or tummy ache. It’s so comforting. I love Dr. Bronner’s Eucalyptus castille soap. I use it as both body wash and hand wash. So lush.

the most nostalgic smells for me would probably be artificial strawberry and petroleum jelly lol. my favorite dolls were actually scented like strawberry and whenever someone uses the smith's strawberry lip balm I remember playing with my dolls. and petroleum jelly or vaseline is particularly nostalgic for me because every time I was done in the bath or shower I covered myself in a layer of it to protect my eczematous skin. i switched products when I was around 11 and now vaseline reminds me of listening to old pop songs on the radio after a shower. i think my favorite used to be hot n cold by katy perry bc I have an old video of me singing it.

Another calming video, love talking and hearing about scents, there's something really comforting and uplifting about smelling a nice scent or putting on perfume. I personally love fig scents, as well as scents containing amber because it has this "warm" aspect to it. I hear about Native deodorants so often, I'll wait until the quarantine is over to order one, their scent range is quite impressive, I'm curious about the vanilla and coconut one or the mint cucumber you mentioned. Have a lovely day

I grew up with Strawberry Shortcake little plastic figurines. Strawberry Shortcake had such a distinct strawberry kids bath soap smell that whenever I smell it I think of her. There’s also a orange and rosemary lotion my grandmother used that has been one of my favorite scents as well. It’s strange to think that such random childhood smells could live that much of an imprint on our memories.

Rose, bay leaf, sugar, lemons, coconut, and ink are my childhood scents. Both my mom and grandmother were pastry chefs so most of those scents were from the things they concocted. The ink is all my dad. Also bay leaf because of the splash he used. He was a calligrapher, among other things.

I think a scent I associate with my childhood is definitely honeysuckle, it would bloomed in the spring and there were bushes on the way to school that I always smelled, so I’ve loved the scent but I don’t find it in body lotions/soaps or perfumes that often. But I love the scent of rose, my mom grew great big roses bushes in front of our house for as long as I could remember.

I love all of the scents you mentioned, one of the reasons I love watching your videos as your picks always sit in the range of what I like. This is probably one of my favourite videos of yours as scent is super important to me and is kind of a make or break for me, it totally dictates my mood. I have to agree with you on the eucalyptus, as a fellow Australian I think there is something so nostalgic about eucalyptus. Another favourite scent would be lavender as my mother would spray lavender onto my pillow as a baby and child growing up to help me sleep. My mother has always been into essentials oils as well, she has huge collection of them and I’m beginning to build my own. I love the Thursday Plantations Peppermint Oil, great for headaches, nausea and just a great overall pick me up. I love using it as my daily fragrance as well. I also love the Bosistos aroma mists, you’re supposed to just spray them into the air but I like to do a small spritz onto my clothes and I don’t know if you know of the meditation range but whenever I smell it it makes me think of my mother, so I have the body butter and balm! Weird side note but I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo for a while now, my first one, and it’s a sort of botanical family crest. I picked different plants to represent my family, lavender for my mother, a snow gum tree stump for my father and three eucalyptus leaves for myself and my 2 siblings. The lavender is obvious but my father is really into woodworking, metalworking, blacksmithing and the like and as a child he would have me sit on a tree stump outside his workshop so I was safe and could watch him work. The 3 eucalyptus leaves represent all the times my siblings and I would play and have adventures and I can still smell the eucalyptus leaves from those hot summer days...
