FYI on CBN stones. Yes, they are great, almost as good as diamonds. For hand sharpening as opposed to power, just get whichever costs less, which will usually be diamond. CBN sharpening was developed specifically to address carbon migration from steel to diamonds, which happens under elevated temperatures during POWER sharpening. Unless your name is Clark Kent or Barry Allen, there's no way you can generate enough heat from the friction of hand sharpening for it to happen.

I have quite a few spydercos, favorite one being the yojimbo. However, i really dislike the frn. Im not going to buy a model just to have to buy aftermarket scales.

Nice review! Do you have a Leafjumper and, if so, what do you think about it? Thank you.

Really surprised by the poor showing of the ceramic mule. I was expecting atom splitting sharpness but the test result showed it was a FAR cry from that. Could you, would you sharpen that thing up either in a video or during your next live and then retest it?

I suspect that it's from Kknives Switzerland, it does not sharpen well, but it holds a toothy edge forever for all intents and purposes.

10:08 I feel like with how slow you made this attempt the physics would be different and it'd cut lighter if you'd made the movement more swift, shrug. almost like slow pushing is helping condense the material below it instead of cutting it.

The trick with this tester, as well as per its instructions, is to go as slow as possible because it gives you the best understanding of a true sharp apex. Going fast or faster allows friction and other physics to get involved that could assist the apex in the initial cut. I own one myself and tested it on my freshly sharpened lil Native; correct speed pull through was an 80, then did a faster cut with slightly more heft to my hand and got the gauge to read 45. Slow and steady is critical to getting the most accurate results.
