Plus the way they merge out in front of everyone going at a really slow speed reminds of an older person merging into traffic. I could be way off but it crossed my mind when first seeing the clip.

@@sleepyjay2664 I pulled that clip and in the longer version the pull over to the left shoulder. They get out and shine flashlights under the back drivers corner of the car. They then get back in and proceed slowly down towards the ramp. My guess would be that the caliper was locking up. Before they went up the wall, you can see them turn left and then overcorrect to the right and go up. If the caliper was seizing it would pull the car that way and they may have lost control over that. Just a guess.

I was an owner operator or a small towing company in northern MN and what I learned over my many years on our roadways is that so many people now own/drive AWD vehicles which gives drivers a false sense of security due to the better traction. What most people fail to learn until it's too late in that even four wheel drives STOP just like everything else on our roadways, poorly when roads are slippery. Slow down no matter what other driver's are doing and give yourself an 'Out' in case of a wreck in front of you.

that pick-up truck that was upside down in the ditch was traveling Eastbound on Hwy. 10 as I was traveling Westbound on Hwy. 10 as I was headed into Ramsey. I think the problem was that because it was previously so cold, no one could see where the ice was when a dusting of snow hid the ice. It was pretty obvious though, because everytime I got out of my truck I was walking on the ice that the snow covered. Personally I prefer to drive slow and leave plenty of room for the other people to be in a hurry. Even a mask won't save you from crashing your car.

When there is ice and snow on the roadways, the best way to avoid an accident is to slow down to the point of just barely moving ahead, even when the roads seem to have been mostly cleared. But instead of taking things slow and easy, most people think the conditions are the same as they would be on a hot, clear day in July. So they start driving full speed ahead again. 90% of these accidents could have been avoided if the drivers slowed down to no more than 45 instead of going 55 or 65. Amazing the stupidity of so many people. On the other hand, just don't freaking stop for no reason in the middle of the road. Slow, steady and constant is the key to winter driving. No quick or sudden moves of any sort.

It's been a horrible year for black ice. Little bit of snow on top of residual salt makes the road wet. Then it turns super cold below the point where the salt is effective and the road freezes. Then they put down a lot more salt to try and melt the black ice. The weather warms up, the road thaws, a little more snow falls, repeat. Whatever happened to using sand in winter?

It was so slippery that even though I was only doing 10 mph, once the tyres started sliding there was no stopping it and there was no way of controlling where it went either.
