Wonderful work. And those cameras really deserve to be back to full life. Most helpful and inspiring video. Do you do kind of work for yourself our, do you restore to sell cameras?

Thank you! I do restore cameras for my own collection, and also for sale. There are so many people who enjoy using fully manual film cameras.

How did you index the outer & centre of the drum, to ensure curtains were bonded to the correct length? I have never seen a video detail how this is done. I made a jig using an undamaged shutter mech for calibration, which clamps the drum outer & centre in the correct orientation to each other then a clamp which hold the curtain edges a the correct distance. They can then be bonder onto the drum. I use rubber solution glue.

Wonderful!! Thank you for sharing this excellent tutorial. Could you please help me with the "shutter curtain". Where can it be found, or how can it be made? I really LOVE my FED, so I really would like to repair this wonderful camera.

This type of shutter button was used on all models made before 1949.

What material did you use for replacing the shutter curtains and ribbons. Is it specialised shutter curtain fabric?
