Got it. Thank you. Just as you probably saw it or guessed, the plane was being “driven” by the maintenance mechanics and not pilots.

I fly this the MD11…this had to be a mechanic repositioning. I don’t know any pilot at FedEx that would do this-highly abnormal unless the taxiways are icy.

@@JohnSmith-zi9or The person taxiing is wearing an orange shirt, it's not a pilot, and they are following an airport ops vehicle- definitely maintenance- and that was horrendous, at least one nose gear tire must have been changed. But I have to say frequently I see pilots do it pulling into the gate when they make the turn to quickly. He thought it was an Airbus when he heard screaming of RETARD, RETARD, RETARD.

What is that tag left on the left landing gear?
@danielrioux6410

Main Landing Gear pins. They get put in after landing to prevent accidental "gear up" while on the ground. This effectively locks them in the down position if anyone ever pulled the gear up lever.

Talk about burning rubber. Damn. Better get some good eyes on the nose gear and tire set on this MD-11 once they park it. Regardless of who is taxing the A/C, something has indeed gone south with that maneuver.

So, is the appropriate punishment for the mechanic driving the tiller to get a bucket of soap and a brush and scrub out that skid mark?

Wow, never seen that before. The Fedex plane taxi to remote gate for maintenance, even though it taxi on it's own power. I don't think the pilot know the wheel almost brake the front wheel.

Well there was not pilot. It was a Maintance mechanic taxiing the plane. Although if it would have broke my video would have been super viral :)
