Appreciate your research and sharing. Have wondered for years if dried B.W.s actually provide any real food value. I feed a wide spectrum of foods to my Betta's and Guppies during the week. Cheers Bend Or

My fish are dying, wasting away. Especially newcomers. I'm very suspicious that the freeze dried tubifex are still harboring pathogens. The problems started when I bought that can. I am convinced something is surviving the freeze-drying process. I used these for decades without a single issue. Now suddenly I'm losing a ton of fish, especially cichlids and livebearers. They start hiding, then die within a day or two. Tank has under 20ppm nitrates (I dose it for plants), 0ppm ammonia, pH is 6.8, and monthly 40% water changes. Heavily planted, with a sump.

My fishes love them. Seriously even before I start to squeeze them they just try to nip and rip the cube out of my hand. I just soak it for a while and squeeze and just shake it. It breaks apart easily and spread through out the tank

How many times a day should i feed my fish with dried tubifex?
@TerryL263

No more than once a day I would think. I usually use it as a treat due to it's fat content.

It is not possible for them to survive. They've been freeze dried and compacted into a dry square for months.
