I do believe I have found that middle ground after struggling with insomnia since 2016. My sleep has improved, but the struggle is certainly not totally gone. The big change is that now the amount of sleep I get or don’t get does not determine the quality of the next day. I actually look forward to the new day regardless of how many hours I slept. This is absolutely huge for me.

My problem is that with all this information I am finally able to sleep thanks to sleep coach but my sleep is kind of fragmented and I wake multiple times ...I use some hypnosis to go to sleep .....but when I wake up in middle I again start hypnosis and sleep again ...so that's the only problem why my sleep is fragments.

Thanks for this insight Daniel! 5 months after watching your channel and Alina’s channel and life becomes in general so much better for me. The ‘no effort’ you can apply it in life moment to moment. Key in my opinion in all this is to look at the fear as a cat who sets his attention to catch a mouse. Invite the fear, look at it. The trap is for me occasionally that you again want a result out of this. So therefore the proces takes time to feel the fear and make it a friend and wanting the fear so to speak forever. That is when it really starting to change. But indeed be kind to yourself because that proces of inviting fear and learn your brain to have a new relationship with it takes ‘time’ Again so much thanks for all these insights! Much love and strengt to everyone in this proces.

Hey Daniel! I have a question that I'm not sure has been asked before on this channel. I was wondering about issues with noises while sleeping? I'm a light sleeper and while I've had my fair share of experiences with insomnia, I can thankfully say I am on the road to recovery; your channel has been the catalyst for that. However, one thing that has always been true for me, is that I am a light sleeper. I recently just moved into a new apartment complex, and I'm constantly hearing noises of neighbors and traffic outside. I used to live more secluded in nature, and I now believe that's a big part of the reason I slept so well! I am currently having to use white noise every night, whether it's through a bluetooth speaker or headphones... which does help. BUT, the minute I hear a sound I'm jolted awake and it's hard to get back to sleep for fear that the sounds will continue. It's like my brain is attached to the idea of sounds constantly coming and preventing me from sleep. I know they are just sounds, it's nothing to fear, but I am having a really hard time letting go when there is constant noise around me. If you have any videos on this from the past, I'd appreciate being directed to them, and if not I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks for you time.

@@johnmonk3381 u blew my mind ....don't have words to how sud I thank you as a young person I was never concerned about sleep and even gave all my exams without sleeping but since I started getting information online and they taught how important sleep was and all that bs I got fixated in sleep and somewhere down the line became insomniac ...since than I am overdoing giving more time to sleep ...to rest all the time ...I guess it's more of the obsession towards perfection and I have heard our sleep brain have been same since the dinosaur age so if it wud not have been that perfect it wud have changed but something about it is so perfect that it has not changed. I just am not able to change the mindset to what I had as a teen I thought sleep was a wastage of time and I slept like a baby than and I tired to minimize it but since the information age they call it super power and all which makes me feels I m losing or I m not normal.

@@johnmonk3381 You like riding a high horse, don't you? Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question. How does it help calling someone suffering the beginning stages of insomnia "self-centered"? Everyone goes through the same nature of fears in their insomnia journey. I've been through that, I know how that feels. So seeing an ass like you calling someone self-centered for being concerned about their sleep is just fucking wrong. Dude, we know certain professions come with having sleep cycles affected and reduced. But how does that arrogant comparison to an average person's fear of their insomnia even factor in? It's not even the right base of comparison to use. 😂 You can think you can have the right answers for someone's problems, but if you communicate like an asshole, then what's the point? 😂

Yes, so true! The last few weeks, I’ve gone the longest I ever have without a major speed bump. I’ve noticed that I actually felt more well rested in between speed bumps than I often do now without them. At first I was a little discouraged, but then I realized it’s actually because now I’m not assigning any meaning to sleeping well. I just think “I slept well, that’s nice” and go on about my day. I’ve also realized there are so many things other than how you sleep (stress, mood, etc.) that impact how you feel on any given day. Sleep is just one part of the puzzle. It’s just hard to remember when you’re “in the trenches” struggling.

Thank you Coach❤ you said that the meaning we give to our sleep dictates our reaction (turbocharge or peace). When I sleep not so well, I know rationally that it is okay and it happens to anyone. But I feel myself turbocharged with negative emotions even though I am aware of all what is happening inside of me. What can I do? I cannot stop the turbocharge mode at will. How can the peace mode be obtained?

Anytime Lea, And you know it is tricky, because we want something tangible to do, but as I say, in the end of this video, I think awareness automatically leads us to do less. And when we’re not doing anything to stop emotions, they fade by themselves.

This is exactly how I am experiencing it at the moment. I haven't been lying awake all night since 3 weeks but still wake up 3-4x a night. Sometimes I sleep only 4 hours in a night (like last night) and then I feel extremely down, unsure and emotional. I have to cry a lot. Then when I sleep well one night, I do a lot the next day. As if I want to make up for the lost day. Really such a big contrast. I find it hard not to feel down and emotional after a bad night and not to feel extremely happy after a good night. Any tips on how I can turn this mindset around?

I am feeling so hopeless. I have been watching this channel for a year, (had insomnia for 3) but still struggle. This week has been one of my worst weeks yet-I’ve had three nights with absolutely no sleep!!! The concepts makes so much sense, but I guess I’m too stupid to apply them. I am so happy for all the success stories, but I’m to the point where I think this is going to be the rest of my life. I’m trying not to have emotional attachment to my sleep, but I just can’t get past it,now even my work is affected. So mad at myself!

Hey Daniel! I was in a situation last year where for months I was woken up by motorcycle noises. It triggered this whole cycle of insomnia. I feel that I have really been traumatized by this and whenever I hear them, it keeps me from sleeping. Just the very fear of it can do so. How can I beat get over this even in situations where I cannot avoid the noise (going on vacation, etc)?

Pretty Nice. But really from the bottom of your heart, do you sleep like a normal sleeper or such in the way better? What about residual fear or do you recorgnize some change on your sleep. For me it is like, going to bed pretty late and waking up pretty early. But is that the new normal. It is funny when you are the only one who is wake up late and the first one who is wake up early.

Hi Julia, Yes I believe we are all different. And when we go “of course I’m more affected, that’s normal”, then we won’t try so much to feel differently as we normalize how we feel. And then we naturally find ourselves feeling well sooner, as wellness comes from effortlessness 🙂
