Just a thought, but have you tried on different items of technology ? In the sense of smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Some companies use a trick where it only works with certain technology or platforms. It kind of keeps them in the boundaries of the law I guess, as you can do it, but they Don't point it out. Not saying this is the case here, but I've had to do this several times.

Amazon would appear to be a common thread in so many complaints of mis-selling - or even outright corrupt practices. In the UK, how does a company manage to get away with facilitating this so brazenly? I'd even venture to say that companies exploiting customers wouldn't get very far.... were it not for Amazon's criminally neglegent oversight. (It has some of the hallmarks of organised crime.) Is "class action" a possible recourse?

And the company is shutting down due to under performance. "Five years ago this September, Neato was purchased by Vorwerk. The two had partnered years prior, bringing the robot vacuums to the appliance firm’s native Germany. Vorwerk promised to keep the brand largely independent. Late last week,[note: some time in May 2023] however, Neato’s parent firm confirmed that it is shutting down the brand, due to underperformance.

I had an issue with a crypto currency company who promised a referral sign up bonus, only for the terms of which I felt misleading. Regardless they replied to my negative online review with the usual corporate doublespeak justifying their terms bla bla. At this point I didn't care and proceeded to forget about them until they emailed me again further excerting their corporate diatribe. Then I noticed something, I noticed that they didn't include their Ltd Compamy Name, Address, Limited Company Status, Company Number on their email. I quickly informed them of the consequences of sending further messages unlawfully and they proceeded to do so. 12 Times. £12,295 compliance claim with legal proceedings being filed on wednesday if they don't reply. Thanks BBB!

Amazon had a heyday of customer service? I find them impossible to even contact. A couple of weeks ago, I realised that a product I'd bought had been mis-described. Couldn't even find a way of getting in touch with them. I'm sure there used to be links on each product page to report problems but they don't seem to be there any more. In my experience, the only sense in which Amazon has good customer service is that I've almost never had a problem with them, and their automated returns system works very well. I wasn't actually unhappy with the product. I'd bought a set of ten paint brushes, the pictures clearly showed ten, I was expecting ten and I got ten. A few weeks later, I noticed in my order history that the name of the product claimed it was a fifteen brush set, and I just wanted to get it fixed to avoid the risk of other people expecting fifteen.

If even the barristers are getting shafted by poor customer service with no resolution I despair! 20-30 emails.... I would've 'pressed the red button' at 5 or 6! I've followed Money Saving Expert for a long time and they've always said regards any sort of cashback to never assume you'll actually get it and treat it as more of a bonus if you do in 6 months or so. I've found that to be sound advice and tend not to let it influence my purchasing decisions as I've had many occasions where it's never materialised for various reasons. There are often so many 'get-outs' in the small print, like purchasing through a 3rd party, or not using a specific purchase link, or having your ad/popup/cookie blocker or VPN enabled which 'hides' the transaction trail. Neato added to the naughty list - robo vacs don't clean in the corners anyway!

Extremely eagle eyed of you! You're right. I know it's old fashioned these days to worry about such things and I have probably been thought a tedious martinet in the past - I think the current word is Karen - but while misspelling a word like barcode seems minor, I contend otherwise: if it's a typo, it means they haven't bothered to go back, check and edit before sending which, while a simple typo is understandable, that just smacks of laziness or lack of concern. Alternatively, if someone thinks it contains the middle "e", that's just ignorant. The scrum and scrabble that so many are enjoining - in a blatant race for cash however ugly the fray is - had meant that any time and care over even formal Company communications - seems currently minimal.

It's not a small amount of money. The problem is that, if he wants to get his £100, he's basically going to have to take a day off work to take these people to the small claims court. For anyone who earns more than £25,000 a year after tax, a day off work costs you more than £100. So, although "only" wasn't the best choice of word, the amount of money isn't large enough to cover his cost of recovering it.
