@@ssoltau9318 Were in the 4th weeks of the Corona virus lockdown. I am working at my trucking job about 2 days per week. While it is no fun to be working so little I do consider myself fortunate that I am continuing to work as so many people are not. The Doctors are starting to say that we here in California US are beginning to see the number of new Virus patients levelling off. New York City and New Orleans are the worst places. New York is always crowded and New Orleans refused to cancel a yearly street party, called Mardis Gras. During Mardi Gras, thousands of people crowd into Bourbon street, drinking and dancing with everyone elbow to elbow....Its going to be awhile before we can start to return to normal....In the meantime, I continue to work on my model trains and read books.....I joined the Facebook group "Transnamibia". The photo section is a "gold mine" of several hundred photographs. Some go back to the German colonial period. There are many old photos of Lüderitz as well. Take care and stay healthy....One last question. I was looking at a map of Namibia. In the south west near the border with South Africa is a place called "Restricted Diamond Area". Is that a place where diamond mining takes place and if you don't work for the mining company, or are there on mine related business, you are not allowed to enter?

@@rogergordon1765 Yeah this whole thing sucks. The school and Felsenkirche I work at are both closed, so currently I'm completely out of work. I made a video of the Felsenkirche a while back, in english it means church on the rock. It's a church and museum and was built back in 1912 and is a really beautiful historic building, one of our landmarks actually. The diamond area is also known as the Sperrgebiet. There used to be diamond mining up to 2018 when Namdeb closed. Namdeb was the major diamond mining company in our area, and country. It's a branch of the South African DeBeers, and our goverment owned about 50% of Namdeb. In 2018 Namdeb was sold, not sure to whom, that detail wasn't released. After the company closed for good end of 2018, about 1,000 people left between November 2018, and April 2019. From then up to December about another 1,000 left. Out of 20,000 people that's a huge number. Luderitz got a really hard blow from that. I honestly thought this might be it for the town if it wasn't for the tourism, and the trains. But now we have Covid-19 to worry about. Honestly, I'd be surprised if our town actually survives it, or if I'm still here in the end. Anyway, currently there's no diamond mining anymore cause the mines are closed. It might come up slightly with the new company, forgot the name, but with the shut downs we have right now that's on hold. We just got shut down completely yesterday for the next two weeks, so no train videos for a while. There aren't any right now either, they've been shut down for a while as well. As for anyone getting in there, in the Sperrgebiet, it's limited. Only certain roads are open and limited. The rest of the area you still need a permit and guide. If you for example want to visit Bogenfels, it's a really famous massive rock arch, you need a permit and guide. When I say massive I mean it. From sea level to it's highest point it's 60 meters in height. You can fly one of these small Cessna planes through it, though you will have to tip the plane slightly sideways, The arch is tall but not very wide.

They were made in Germany. We're trying, but it's not easy since we're so way off from other areas. The closest small town is Aus, and it's 120 kilometers or roughly 75 miles from us, and it's way smaller then Luderitz. The closest town that's about the same size in area and population is Keetmanshoop. It's about 350 kilometers or 217 miles from us.
