Thanks for sharing this story! I've been following you for a few years and you are such an inspiration! I was diagnosed with early scarring alopecia earlier this year (lost most of my crown) and decided to treat it with nutrition and changing my diet, reducing stress, etc. I'm also in menopause and have PCOS, so it has been interesting, to say the least. I eliminated dairy and added more anti-inflammatory fruits and vegetables and my hair has grown back and is thicker than ever (still a short afro cause I cut it all off right after diagnosis). I just started a KZitem channel to share my journey and connect with other women going through the same thing. Thanks for all you do!

Nice of you to comment...I went to dermatologist and got steroid injections on the spot. Two years, it got worse before better. I really think whatevers causing it (stress, diet, trauma) has to run its course before treatments will be effective. I took a break from the shots and finally the last 6 months of shots the hair responded well and is looking full again. I do think the shots are important to keep the follicles active and awake.

I have an autoimmune disease and as long as I can remember I've dealt with alopecia on my sides and I wore a pixie cut. It wasn't bad and was easy to hide. When the pandemic started I became natural due to the world being closed. I started buying the aloe vera plant, made an oil mix with peppermint and tea tree for hot oil treatments, and saw a dermatologist. I would flake so bad and got tired of it. I use a medicated shampoo and I use Head and Shoulders Royal Oils line and it has been fantastic! I went from having a length of 2 inches of hair July 2019 to March 2020 a Bob in 8 months. As of now my hair is a little pass my shoulders. With the natural products and scalp massages, I've used hair has started to grow in the alopecia areas. For myself, I personally believe the relaxers stunted my hair growth on those areas. Being natural with long hair is definitely time consuming lol but it has been a learning experience for me. I don't wear my curls I love it straight. Your video taught me how to trim my own ends.

her hair looks amazing but if she’s interested, and in case she has androgenic alopecia then there’s a new technique using stem cells from the subcutaneous tissue of the scalp itself { Cell Enriched Autologous Fat Grafts } .. she can use minoxidil 2% spray/foam as well but it needs a good compliance ❤️ other causes of alopecia need to be ruled out ( e.g. like autoimmune alopecia areata which is usually treated with local steroids injections) ⚠️⚠️⚠️ always consult a certified dermatologist please ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Another major issues with corticosteroids is adrenal suppresion. The adrenal glands make cortisol daily for your body to function, but if you are taking steroids for a long time, it can cause the adrenal glands to make less in order to 'even things out'. When this happens, you have to take steroids in order to live until the adrenals recover. This is why it's important to wean off corticosteroid treatment slowly and to only take it for the prescribed amount of time.

@@DK-qj7cr Haha, I have a few hairs that like to come in on my chin. Thankfully, they usually come in just one or two at a time. I will spend hours picking at them though, even if they're less than a centimeter long, just because the idea of having them bothers me and I believe I've caused scarring because of this. I think I'm so persistent about it as well is because I found out about them when one of my brothers pointed out I had a chin hair. I go to feel for it and tell me why that sucker was like, two and a half inches long? I became paranoid on how long it'd been there and who else had seen it 😂. And how did I miss it?!

I know I've been commenting all day but this video hit home. I live with traction alopecia. I grew up with self proclaimed hair stylists that braided my hair and added all kinds of stress to it. Now, as an adult, I'm ashamed of my hairline and can never seem to grow it back. It took a long time to accept it. Please, y'all don't play with your hair. Take good care of it! Edit: And thank you Aunt Charlene for being on the channel

I'm sorry that happened to you. I just don't understand how hairstylists, professional and self-proclaimed, will see these stressed and thinning hairlines and other evidence of hair loss, on their clients yet they just continue to install these braid, weaves, and gluing down lace front wigs, without saying a word?

I don't really understand alopecia because I was very young when I had it, I got a special conditioner to help with it and I think it's gone now

My boyfriend of 4 years left me because of my lupus.... He couldn't deal with the chronic pain throughout my body and the hair loss 😔.... I accept what happened to me but it still hurts. It still hurts a lot

I'm sorry that happened and he was a shitty person. If he left you over that that's just an awful person who wouldn't stand with you on worse scenarios. Mine left me cause I wanted to cut my long hair short. You and me don't need men like that. Trust me you'll be much better without him. I hope it'll get better soon love

At least you were able to have a relationship at one point. A lot of people are super lonely and never even date let alone have a boyfriend/girlfriend. When you think of it that way then you won't feel so bad. ❤️

Sending hugs. Hopefully you'll meet a great match and you'll get massages together and swimming and stuff. Hubby and I have had those things on our list for ages. Here's to meeting a right minded partner and having good times together.
