Talking about the youth incrisis and the older generation at the end was great. Because i am seeing that in the community of Portland Oregon NOW. I have been here since 2019 and am pregnant on my 2nd baby with a 3 yr old as well. And im seeing both older and youth coming to me because there is this disconnection. Im so proud to be a mother of TODAY because i feel im giving that Hope. But also i need my Portland community to take that leap when they still only look to me for doing everything. Especially on my 3yr old and my pregnancy. Thank u Angela Davis

I like her but retributive instinct is a state instinct? would she also so it is a capitalist instinct? as someone who is very sympathetic to anti-capitalist and left-wing anarchist discourses, I have to say that makes me lol. I don't think the retributive instinct is something we should defend but we should note it does exist even among other species. interesting lecture nonetheless.

I highly doubt that the Haley family shares your lofty views of Davis in the "aggravated kidnapping and first degree murder in the death of Judge Harold Haley"! Skilled Race Card Player.

Actually, in my anthropology degree one of the first things you learn is that race is a social construct and that there is more genetic variance between people of the same ‘race’ than ‘others’. However, the visual representation of ‘race’ inevitably has a huge impact on treatment of people accordingly and unjustly. Equally, even though people’s ‘bits of body parts’ should not matter in theory, being born in a body that is represented as a woman within a patriarchal society also inevitably has an unjust impact in terms of treatment and status. While I agree that I theory we should all just accept everyone regardless of how they identify, to minimise the experience of female as a biological physical reality is the same as saying ‘just forget about being black’… it’s not a fair or critical response and to me reinstated patriarchal discourse of needing to passively submit to a new perspective on what it means to have lived a biological experience as a woman. It feels like erasure of this experience, even though I agree the ideal would be great. Ultimately, remove patriarchy and I agree with her sentiments.
