This video covers the basics of Ann Eaton's Essay entitled Painting and Ethics as represented in Aesthetics, A Reader in the Philosophy of the Arts, by David Goldblatt, Lee B. Brown, and Stephanie Patridge. This is Part 2 of our analysis of Eaton's essay and focuses specifically on her feminist analysis of Titian's Rape of Europa. She uses this painting as an example of the need to investigate a work of art closely in order to evaluate the ethical content of that work.
