I love that Tele. I remember you did your Long Train Runnin lesson with it. That vintage cream (that's the color name according to the 1996 Fender catalog) is such a nice color. It's like an olympic white guitar that you played for 10 years in smoke-filled bars.

Nice guitar, man... I just picked up a 97 American Standard in sage green (almost like a silver) w an aged white pearloid pick guard. It’s freakin awesome. I have always wanted to either buy one or build one. My wife said I can't buy anymore guitars... she never said anything about building one. HA! I love the Tele Blues sound, or even the Tele Country... as Hank Jr. sang... "You've gotta get a Fender Tele and dress it in black." "Put leather all around it, so your buckel won't scratch the back" Now I'm into Eric and Keith and theres alot of hot hands around. But Waylon's Guitar had that sound.

Brought a smile to my face when you played Don't Let Me Down around 4:30. Also Voodoo Child at 9:15. And Over The Hills And Far Away in the end. :) Great sounding Tele by the way. I got a SX Vintage Series Stratocaster, it's a very cheap guitar and it doesn't sound good at all. I'm saving up for an Epiphone or Squier though. Just don't know what a good Blues guitar would be, I'm thinking of an Epiphone Dot or a Squier Telecaster.

@DavidRFIT

Don't know if you're asking for PRS SE review because you want to buy one, but just in case: I recently got a PRS SE Custom 24 and I was blown away by the thing. I have had about 15 guitars in my life and with this, for the second time I have a guitar that's worth way more than its price (the other time was with a MIM Telecaster that really stood out from other MIMs... actually it was the only MIM Fender I've ever had... always american usually). But really, the PRS is beyond good. I had two Gibson Les Paul Studios made in USA and they both were WAY worse than the PRS in almost every aspect, regardless the fact their cost was almost 150% than the PRS. I also tried the new Les Paul 50s Tribute 2016 T side by side with the PRS the day I bought it, and in comparison to the PRS it looked and felt like a toy.

Thanks David, this is helpful, have heard that many pros in Nashville prefer the SE model.To me the Gibsons are way beyond affordable. Hope to try the SE soon, I have heard much praise of them. Love my Tele, just feels,plays, and sounds great.
@DavidRFIT
8 жыл бұрын
I hope you can try one soon. Believe me, I have or had several Stratocasters American Standard (four in total), Stratocaster Signatures (one, a very good Billy Corgan), Les Pauls (meh... the Studios were just meh for me), LTDs, a Telecaster... I usually managed to find very good guitars but almost never said "this is worth much more than its cost". If you like the Gibson sound you could try the PRS SE 245 or the Bernie Mardsen signature. Otherwise, the Custom 24 is the "classic" PRS, that has a more modern interpretation of that sound, kinda "in between" the worlds of Fender and Gibson but with its very own character... For 20 years I was never even interested in PRS but now I am a big fan. And I haven't even tried an american PRS yet! P.S. In the case of the SE Custom 24, be sure it's the newer model (from 2012 on, if I remember correctly)... much better than the older version, with a way more beautiful beveled body and a coil split option for the humbuckers
