So much of the criticism of JB seems misplaced. His tone is compelling, his technique is secure, his feel is just fine. And if you love guitar, how can you not appreciate this guy who promotes the instrument in such a positive light? He’s not perfect, but who is? He’s immensely talented, and it seems to me his note choices keep getting better and better each year. Some other well-known guitarists seem to always rely on a highly processed sound even when just demoing a guitar. The delay pedal, the chorus effect, etc., are always on full throttle. Not so with JB. To be sure, he uses effects at times, but he doesn’t need to hide behind them when demoing a guitar or amp, not from what I can hear. He’s a great ambassador for the instrument and for the blues. The guitar community should respect that he honors the blues traditions, pays homage to the greats that preceded him, and remains a down-to-earth bloke.

Thanks so much for your comment! I'd never before thought of the amp as being an instrument in and of itself. I've got a lot to learn! But, of course, it's obvious now that you've mentioned it. The amp just plays a different role in the creation of music than the music instruments themselves....but they all work together for the final sound and/or performance.

Nice amp and awesome playing by Joe! But at $3,500, it's not for most of us. I must say that I'm quite happy with my 1973 silverface Fender Deluxe Reverb amp that I bought used for $500. It pumps out 22 watts thru a 12" inch alnico Celestion gold speaker that has a nice bottom end.

@@danlovepeaceunity... My very favorite album is Joe's 2009 Royal Albert Hall concert. He was young, 31 years old at the time, I believe, and full of promise for a strong music career. He was so very good, but still somewhat freshly minted, so his enthusiasm was extremely contagious. Try to find the DVD or Blu-ray. Or look on KZitem for the 2009 Royal Albert Hall concert for various songs. But I could just as easily name other albums and concerts that are superb also. It's hard to make a choice, because there are so many and they are all excellent. I have lots of favorite songs, one of which is his rendition of Leon Russell's "Hummingbird" at the Greek Theatre. It's a spectacular interpretation and arrangement. I think that was in 2016. It's here on KZitem. My favorite song that he wrote himself is "Mountain Time" from the 2009 RAH concert. Also on KZitem. Check out his channel. Also look on YT for his collaboration with Beth Hart. I especially like his solo in "Id Rather Go Blind." He is in other bands too. Check out Black Country Communion band (more of a hard rock feel) and also Rock Candy Funk Party band (more of a jazz-funk). I hope this gets to you, as I have tried to send information to you twice earlier, and for some reason both postings failed.
