I’ve got the Player Jaguar and would like to put a warmer sounding pickup in the neck … has anyone done this?

i haven’t done this but the idea behind it is it’s very versatile guitar because either has a humbuckers and a single coil… it’s also kinda something made for modding.. i bet it’d sound good with a new neck pickup

I bought this, my first Jaguar ever, just because I just like having the truss rod nut at the headstock, see? Other than that, it was an absolute Nightmare at getting to finally acceptable intonation since those barrel saddles are ANGLED and there is a 'Bermuda Triangle' effect at specific points where your adjustment results will suddenly REVERSE thus leaving you wondering WTF just happened. It, the Jaguar, does theoretically have less of the 'fundamental' in notes and more harmonic content so it is rather unique there.

I definitely noticed the diminishing of “fundamental” frequency which you describe. It is a very unique tone. As I was playing, I felt the notes were less obvious.

@@evanheathguitar Yes, I guess it's true then. Leo Fender actually designed even the Jaguar for Jazz players too, or so I've read. I immediately noticed that I can more easily stretch out and reach notes to make novel chords on the Jag even easier than on a 24.6" Gretsch scale.

I love playing mine, but I dislike the neck pick up. Any recommendations for a replacement? I’m also considering putting a tune on matic bridge in.

@@barrycreed9886 well smarty pants, technically, the Spanish pronunciation is correct because the term “Jaguar” comes from the indigenous word “Yaguar”. Jaguars are native to the Americas and that’s where the term came from so let’s agree to disagree

@@barrycreed9886 and they don’t say Jag-U-Ar either lmao and the origin is Mexican Spanish not Spanish Spanish. But they pronounce it the same in all regions that speak Spanish “ha-guar”
