I love the easy to follow description of each flashlight, Idk but I laugh when he describes the pdr35 tac and say (All momentary away you go) I'm excited I'm getting mine pdr tac in a few days exactly what I'm looking for.

The PD35 was one of my first LED lights. I loved blowing people away with its high output. The PD35 basically created its own category. I wish they were made somewhere else than China though.

I recently bought the Fenix PD40R with a rotary switch. It is amazing and hands down the best in my collection. I hate to collect, I want to use. The PD40R goes in top of the list for sure. Easy to use glove in hand and finally usable great power levels. Some other manufacturers makes lights with unusable power output levels but not Fenix. In the PD40R I can use 1000 lumens almost two hours flat! Great indeed and 3000 lumens is also good option if needed. Great job Fenix! I don't need 1 lumen mode or too many modes anyways. Mechanical masterpiece is finally here :-) Couple of complaints though - slippery switch (I need to do a mod) and too long battery. It's too bad not showing in the video because it's the best :-)

I can attest to the toughness of a fenix, I have a PD36R, it has survived being dropped on solid tarmac hundreds of times, survived a house flooding for 3 days straight under flood water, survived (and still is) goin in 6 years of abuse through my work as an aircraft engineer. And it's still going strong

I'm a consumer. I have NO COMPLAINTS!!! I have tried several others such as Olight, Klarus, Nitecore, and Thrunite just to name a few, and my Fenix lights are the overall best build quality and best UI of any of the rest of them. Thanks, Fenix

Pd36r user here and I’m super happy with its performance! It’s insanely bright for the size. I just wish it had that instant strobe feature found on the pd35 tac & tk26r, I noticed that the sst40 Led tint is a little greenish on the pd36r compared to my 6 years old pd35 still going strong without a single malfunction. I hope the pd36r can last the same way as my pd35 2014 version.

So, with the pd36r, if I leave on turbo mode, when I turn it on again, it will stay on turbo?

Alex, I own a lot of flashlights from Fenix and Olight and the PD36R is by far my favorite. Its perfect balance of throw and flood, combined with a 21700 batter gives you fantastic run times.

Just ordered Fenix PD35 tac led 1,000 lumens max output yay . Streamlight at my local store has 18650 batteries much lower priced at $13 . Yeah also had a streamlight 2LX tac since Dec Going to get extra ones . The newer ones have charging portal on the side if them all you need is a USB cable that comes with it

I’ve owned 4 Fenix flashlights. 2 PD35 and 2 PD35 TAC flashlights and they never last for more than 2 years. My last PD35 TAC just failed. It’s very disappointing because it’s a great flashlight and just the right size, but can’t justify the cost anymore.
@duncdunc76

@akaredcrossbow. Huh, they have a lifetime limited warranty so did you get them replaced by Fenix? And since Ive never heard of anyone else talk about 4 Fenix lights failing on them may I ask what were the usage tasks that you used them for when they failed? And finally what light do you use now instead of Fenix?
@akaredcrossbow

@@duncdunc76 I never used the warranty, because I never registered them. I have no idea now where I bought them, and no idea where the receipts are. My new one I have registered.

This guy doesn't understand "step-down" or is simply bullshitting, these flashlights will step down from turbo after 2-3mins, probably in half. A better option for tactical would be Nitecores new P10i or P20i, went out at the time of this vid.
