Have you removed the battery protector? Many people miss the attached tag that says you need to do that. If you have, then please contact our warranty and repair department and they can walk you through the issue. www.fenixlighting.com/support/warranty-repairs/

I carry a Fenix PD36R as my EDC, because it is bright yet compact. I'm thinking of getting the LR50R for my home as a non-lethal defensive weapon to temporarily blind an attacker. My wife is afraid of guns, so this may be a good alternative for her when used in conjunction with a pepper spray. Would you recommend this model or a different one for this purpose?

This is a fairly large/heavy flashlight. Even though blasting 12000 lumens would certainly deter an assailant, your wife might be better served with a smaller flashlight that has a strobe mode. The strobe is used specifically for that purpose; to disorient and confuse an attacker. Your PD36R has that feature. Give it a try and see if that would meet your needs. Otherwise, yes 12000 lumens will do the trick too!

How long can it maintain 12.000 lumens till it makes step down?
@j.p.4541

That’s a great question I’d like to know as well, my guess is 1-2 minutes before step down.

It all depends on your environment. When the light reaches an internal temperature of about 140°F, the light will automatically step down. In my test here in the office it was just over 2 minutes

How long 6000lumens last when it takes stepdown to 3000lumens?

I can see from the runtime chart on the website the Lr50r fluctuating alot! Is this a problem with heat regulator ( defect ) or that is normal?
@FenixLightingUSA
3 жыл бұрын
It's not a defect. The large swings are just on the High II level (other levels maintain fairly constant output) and is due to a combination of the light trying to maintain higher lumen levels with reduced battery capacity and heat build up.

I just received mine, it says in the instructions that when using 21700 the max output will be only 6000 lumen ... Not sure how exactly they "detect" if we are using the battery pack os 4x21700 cells .... but I didn't like when I read that in the manul, disappointing.
@FenixLightingUSA

21700 batteries are to only be used as backup power. The light was designed specifically for the included ARB-L52-16000 battery pack. Sorry you are disappointment, but it does state that on our website too.
