It’s genuinely useful. My secondary flashlight must be angled and must be able to stand upright. Either that or it must be usable when clipped to my pocket or ball cap. This one does both. The clip is on the other side of the light, which means it can be detached then clipped to my shirt pocket or collar. Works on my watch band too. This frees up my hands to do other things, including writing. The olight pen is expensive, yet the light on the clip looks fragile.

I've actually used the OLight pen in the field. It's not fragile at all. Thank you.

Thank you for a great review. It was very helpful. Do you have a suggestion for a competitive offering that is superior to this? I am in the market for several pen/task lights that can be easily employed for hands free use (e.g., body-cab style, clip to ball cap) . Defensive use (PPCT or other) is a secondary concern.

Thanks! The T6 can be used hands-free. The only restriction is first removing the light, turn the clip around, and then place it back where it was. Now, the light points forward and you're good to go. That's how I'm using it for admin tasks. Since defensive use is secondary, this might just work for you. The Streamlight Stylus Pro has a following among first responders and I like the clip position and the switch on the top of the pen. Hope that helps. I might actually do a formal review of that one.

I forgot about the OLIGHT Open Pro 120, although I have no experience with it. I might add that to the review queue if you are interested.

@@L5-SAR Thank you for the quick reply. I am interested in a review of the OLIGHT product. In the meantime, I think I will try the T6 based on your description of how you are using it.

@@L5-SAR Thanks for the review. I had not seen the Fenix version. As for Olight, there was a very different O'Pen out years ago so when a different model was introduced it was reintroduced as the O'Pen 2, to distinguish it. I think the original was just a penlight, NOT a pen and a light combination, at least that is what it looks like from a 2014 review at BudgetLightForum. It was more akin to the current i3T Plus 2 x AAA flashlight or penlight [the 5T models are AA]. Then occasionally around is a hand out type of stylus pen that was just a pen/stylus. So moving to the more current pen/flashlight model combos.. The O'Pen 2 is a bolt action pen and flashlight. From moonlight of 5 lumens, low of 20, medium of 60, high of 120 lumens. USB C rechargeable. It has a LED on the back, opposite side from the clip, similar to the Fenix you show. Activated from the top. Listed as out of stock, but supposedly to return. I don't know if it is a current model or not. Like the Fenix, it would have to be clipped to the outside of the pocket or t-shirt to utilize the light. Then the O'Pen Pro was introduced. The top of the pen is now a green laser and the white LED is built into the clip. So it can be used as a flashlight while the pen is in the pocket. Since all pen and light functions now work off of the bolt it might considered a bit awkward to activate the light function while it is in the pocket unless one frequently uses it. The good news once activated is that it can remain more securely inside the pocket and be used as a light. You push the bolt up to turn on the light or push it up and hold to activate the green laser. The bolt is used the regular way bolt action pens work to use the pen function. It works smoothly. The light module itself is IPX8 rated. I don't know if the laser poses any problem at security checkpoints. I do believe the local Federal District court bars lasers. There is an O'Pen Mini which does not include a light function, but uses the same refills. The O'Pen Pro comes with an extra refill, and Olight has 3 packs of their version available (look for the free listing though the end of this year, 2022, versus the priced one). Commercially the refills that fit are a Schmidt 8126 mini for O'Pen 2/Pro/Mini .One caution those O'Pen Minis are lightweight and practically disappear in a pocket so be sure to remove before washing. The refills are a gel/liquid ink so one can suddenly have spots to use alcohol, to laboriously reduce, on clothing.

I've contacted Nebo, but they do not have a test & evaluation program. I own a Nebo Slim which is pretty cool, but the on/off button broke. I'd like to review more of their products.

Not real glass - real auto glass. There is a difference. I don't have access to an old automobile for t hat kind of testing. Would be nice if I could figure out a way :)
