It can be hard to understand, I think for me I say if it makes someone happy to be called them /they rather then he,his/she,her then it's not too hard of a task for me. Most times it is not a secret it's not like you call them she/he and they go mad at you. People who like to be called Them/they usually will introduce themselves with their pronouns and say "this is what I like to be called". Or they tend to wear a badge (when they work in the Supermarkets) I have seen them wear a badge that says I like to be called them/they so that helps also.🙂

Kim and Jeffrey are clearly in mourning and still traumatised by Rowan's death. Therefore, their video is the more precious as they share their broken hearts. I love Rowan's hair styles and those beautiful colours - definitely a very creative person with so many skills at hand. From the outside looking in, I hope Kim and Jeffrey are able to find peace in this turmoil. They, themselves, found their child - unique. Rowan was in a safe place - unique. She can't have suffered because many other parents say their child/ren just gently fell asleep. Btw. Rowan trees are one of my favourite trees. An abundance of them grow in the Highlands of Scotland. I planted one in my first garden decades ago. I'll remember your precious child next time I see one. ❤❤❤

@@TopNotchCreamQueen Here is a quick crash-course in faschism. Faschism seeks to gain control in several areas of society: one of them is language. if you control language, you can control how people think and behave. the queer radical(extreme) left use this tactic. i know i am lgbt. i will give a comparison now. there are two perceptions here. there is the perception of @lisametheny2243 and the perception of the deceased. ethically, in an open and public forum, language cannot and should not be forced or compulsory. if the deceased and @lisametheny2243 met privately, then identities could be explained and at that point decided upon if identities would be acknowledged or honored. but you @TopNotchQueen, are not ethically in the position to force public or open language, nor should you unless you adopt a fascist system of thought. @lisametheny2243 has a birthright to speak as she wishes, even if this makes her appear to be callous rude or inconsiderate because these are not illegal character traits. pic up a book on ethics and read it.

I appreciate your prayers and hope for peace, but please rethink your words. Hundreds of people of all ages are being killed daily by fake prescription pills thought to be Xanax, Percocet, Adderall and others tainted by illicit fentanyl. It's also now being found in fake candies that look absolutely real. Not pills people are obtaining because they are addicted. Ask the DEA. Rowan had severe migraines and often would get very bad panic attacks. She had extremely bad ADHD, and would frequently forget to refill her purse with her prescription meds. She may well have found herself faced with an almost hour-long drive at 1:00 in the morning and in one of these circumstances, hoping to find some help. Another note: they had Lupus, an AI disorder, so it is very likely their parents and themselves had been very familiar with medical appointments and being very careful about what they may ingest, as to not react with certain medications, since a young age. This person did not have control of their own immune system, it attacked its own body; the parents and friends say they were very uncomfortable of the idea of not being in control. I believe them when they say Rowan wouldn’t have ingested anything to harm themselves. These are not just individuals who regularly make bad choices, but what all of these videos have in common is they are all human, all fallible, all imperfect. Growing up for me, it was generally okay to make mistakes and experiment and make bad choices. It’s getting dangerous to even make innocent choices. Very good point you’re making. I hope they already looked into it but with the huge decrease in police presence due to defunding I’m concerned that it never happened. If this person wasn’t in the habit of calling to make sure she reached her destination what was his sudden concern this time? Why was he worried about it. He may have nothing to do with it but if you find a girl dead who was clearly on her way home, no matter how it looks … you get to the bottom of it. She obviously pulled over in distress of some kind, maybe because she was suspicious of something she has just ingested when she soon after began feeling very unwell, dizzy, or had trouble breathing. Just enough time to pull over but nothing more. It’s obvious she had no idea she was going to die and had no intent of dying. They need to know why this happened.

Thank you for this compassionate and sympathetic comment showing love and support for the family during the worst loss of their lives. I’m so glad you didn’t share an opinion that is *totally* off topic, and a KNOWN source of extremely divisive discussion, bc that would be embarrassingly inappropriate to post under a video on this topic. To someone who would do that? If you feel your opinion is so important that others absolutely must hear it, I’d say find another venue to share your views.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves. You can watch something like this and all you take away from it is that words confuse you? They’re talking about one person. The video is about one person. One person died. How are you confused as to who they’re talking about? And then to comment about it. Not “I’m sorry for your loss.”, but, “I’m not smart enough to be able to follow a story with one character.”

I graduated with no debt between her job and my weekend job we kept up with tuition and my medical books and all bills paid. Students can not do that today. You know what? I'm sick to death about hearing how recreational drug users are dying taking illicit substances, and I'm much more concerned about the complete inability of your average Joe to get ANY SORT OF PAIN RELIEF. Doctors are now allowed to leave patients in agony, causing an unknown number of suicides. One guy even walked into a hospital and shot his surgeon. It happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma. How they can live with themselves is beyond my comprehension. They must love money more than anything else. Medical ethics is an oxymoron these days. #dontpunishpain

I agree about the difficulty of people getting relief from physical pain but this young lady was not a recreational drug user. This could have happened to anyone. Anyone can be poisoned when coming in contact with fentanyl. Btw, until she had a back surgery my mother had to get relief from several oxycodones everyday for about 18 months. After surgery she was off all pain medication in less than a month. Zero problems with addiction, yet some doctors probably would have refused to prescribe her opiates when she really needed them.

@@mizzbee1477 I mean, even this mother slipped and said she. While I can follow cultural respect to call someone their nickname or pet name they choose, switching pronouns is disrespecting those with learning disabilities, autism, language processing disorders, and also foreigners. Romanian, Russian, Slovene and Spanish languages have masculine and feminine features. Trying to force others into English language gymnastics that isn’t clear is wrong. If you feel the need to be inclusive, and demand respect for yourself, then respect others too, do away with pronouns altogether and use their name.

Let's set the record straight on a couple of points both mother and father made. 1. You are either born male or female . There is no "they / them" this is 1 individual not 2. 2. Its pretty clear dad referred to his daughter as she right from the beginning. 3. Mom halfway during the video referred to the person as her daughter/ she. 4. This young lady clearly has so mental setbacks. Which is common in all walks of life. 5. Hard working , late nights, dedicated, team player, loved her job etc etc . Has absolutely nothing to do with what happened on the fatal night. 6. Her friends used recreational drugs said both parents . How did they know this? She must have had a chat with her parents about it. 7. Lupus , what medical drugs was this young lady taking daily , to keep her lupus under control. 8. Why would anyone accept a tablet from anyone, friend or work colleague without it being in a pop out wrap or read the bottle to see what you are taking. 9. We all have a choice in life. She trusted that person who gave her the tablet/s the night. It was the wrong choice. In closing, the drug epidemic is real. Do not accept any headache tablet, pain tablet from anyone. Carry your own. My sincere condolences to this young ladies parents . May the good memories carry you both through these dark and numbing days .

@Madamegato

They/Them does not always mean plural, evidenced by this example: if someone asks you who the book belongs to, you can answer, "It belongs to them," while pointing to a single person. Another example: if you don't know what a person is talking about, or doubt them, you can say, "They obviously don't understand," all while talking about a single person. Grammar out of the way, this is also for non-binary folks who don't want to be put into she/he categories. I don't know their reasons, frankly, their reasons are their own, BUT just like Mr./Ms. when you're being respectful, if someone requests me to use they/them, I will be doing my best. To me, it's like a name. If someone tells you their name is Rajit, you don't tell them it's too hard to say and you're just going to call them Ron.
