The narrator mentioned the toroi being topped up with "vegetable juice" but it is as clear as water and looks like brine.

Out of all our Maori chefs this man was chosen?. Not an accurate showcasing of our abundance and culinary knowledge. That was a sad kai.

Who would you have chosen?!

The 2 Maori girls who won master chef. That boilup didn't even have kumara and the amount greens would have melted to nothing. The mussels presented was only enough for him. Maori could be better presented yet we aren't on many levels.

@@tracymichaelsen493 they already have their own show. Adding to additional voices is better. This is a genuine and authentic video. This is how him and his whanau do things which is good.

If you are representing a take on Maori cooking then he should have done it better. Representing a traditional dish in his authentic way is cool if he wasnt representing the rest of us . Maori are sometimes portrayed a certain negative way. If you call yourself a chef yet you cant cook a boilup? People are always wanting a pass by just participating with a self appointed title. Political correctness is loved by the mediocre. Maori are not mediocre and should be represented better. He was on the show to display to the world how Maori preserve kaimoana through fermentation. Im not being mean Im being honest as a Maori. His kai was whack. Him and his whanau awesome, lovely and what? . I am being my authentic self with my views and asking who else should they have chosen ? Someone better
