This is exactly what happened to me as well. The only thing I can think of is removing trube first before the hip addition.

good idea for hop creep and yeast harvesting sakes . with the fermzilla, could you dump the first jar and recollect the most active yeast + some beer? or will yeast cake just fill 1 container?

In this case, there is no need to panic, what you need to do is connect the co2 cylinder to the hop container below, connect the gas with 20 psi, pull it and connect it again, the critical issue here is that the pressure in the fermenter should be 10 psi.

so what‘s epic about this? I kept expecting some big disaster like you open the jar and forget to close the butterfly valve, or something…

I always just purge everything off the vessel then put 10 psi on the bottom portion and it always works

I thought by myself thats a nifty idea, I'm gonna give that a try, that's if things go south. Alright cool, I threw in my hops in the little container. Connected it to the main vessel and opened the butterfly valve and let the pressure do it's work, nice, or so i thought😂. As I opened the butterfly valve, wort came down with an force, didn't scoop much hops and left me with an inch and a half of hops including those that dropped down again😢. Now it's down there all useless😢. So next I try what you said. Connect the gas to the little screw-in container(yes!), flushing the unit. As the gas came through I notice it's not really scooping(its scooping but not effectively) the hops, Do to what I think is due to the gas in-lit positioned too high up on the little container😢 it cant get all of it unless in the future I can get the pressure to point diagonally down. I also think the 2inch opening at the bottom is bit too small to accommodate all movement. So now i had to Mc Mcgyver his ass😂. I released all the pressure from the lid of the main vessel on top, turned the whole thing upside-down😂 and let the little container run empty into the main vessel and closed the butterfly valve, quickly turn the vessel around again, released the pressure on top and put the spunding valve back😅. I can tell you one thing is for sure. I'll never use that little container thingy to attempt dryhopping ever again😅, but rather spend some money and try the hop bong. 😊

This first time i dry hopped i did the same exact thing ....Now you can get a fitting that goes on the top called a hop bong u pressurize it to same psi as fermenter then they just drop in the top ..no need to drop the yeast also .

I'm new to all this but the keg land demo uses dry hopping from the top using he hop bong. Though if I rammender he mentioned hops "Shooting up" as if the hops are about to go into space. But I thought the pressure difference would not do that, only a negative pressure or a vacuum in the larger area would "suck" material into that space. Since Both areas are pressurised, no such effect will happen. The pressure simply want to equalize sending not much anywhere.

Is this pressure brewing worth it?I'm old school but open to better beer.

Definitely worth pressure brewing. No off flavours, can ferment at higher temps so shorter fermentation. No oxygen getting near your beer, can transfer to kegs without o2 hitting beer too.

You dont release the vesel pressure

well, if you still have hops left over, remove the excess yeast, sanitize, purge again, and dry hop
Made two big mistakes, 1. didnt dump all the trub at the bottom before I dry hopped and 2. had too much hops in container, nearly 350g pellets

@@dolanspirit 3 the pressure you have on the hops should be more than the pressure you have on the fermenter. you did not release the pressure of the fermenter before opening the valve instead you try to release pressure from the hops to fix this. if you have more pressure on the hop container than the fermenter then that would push the trub and the hops inside

@@LeonGarcia31 exactly! you should have released most of the pressure in the main compartment first…
