This is my favourite film. I haven't been able to get it in 120 yet but in 35 it's something special for sure.

Have shot a bunch of this in 35 and 120. It’s an amazing stock, but it has very little latitude. My favorite way to shoot it is in low contrast situations and exposing to favor the shadow’s slightly, I used grad NDs when shooting in more contrasty situations. The roll I am shooting now I am exposing at 64 and pulling one stop in development.

I bet it looks incredible in 120. I wanted to get some but it’s sold out till December I think. Overall I love the look but yeah it’s pretty tricky to get it right.

great review. I have shot this film a lot lately and really love it but agree with your conlcusion that some scenes just dont work well with it. I would also be interested to see your opinion on Orto 50 because for me that one is closer to an ISO 80 film aswell. My negatives shot at 50 all were a bit too bright.

Never had a chance to try this film, but wow, sure looks smooth. I wonder if the people who say to expose at iso 40 are not developing in Xtol? I agree, at 80 and in Xtol looks perfect.

Yeah I considered mentioning in the video that it might appear slower with other developers because they don’t all give box speed, and XTOL does make the film slightly faster when diluted.

Isn't all modern b&w film panchromatic?

Probably 99% of them are yes. There’s maybe a handful of Ortho films in the whole market.

I don't understand why b&w film needs to market itself as panchromatic, or highlight it as an attribute. It's not you, I think I just see it as a marketing scheme or something
