Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one single state operated central gasstation per city. :-(

Hahah.. through my research on all of this, I learned that A) it’s complicated, and B) for the synchros to work, they need *more* friction when the oil is in shear, to better equalize the speed of the dogteeth that mesh when you go into gear. The “NS” stands for non-slip, which means it has no friction modifiers. The friction modifier additives available actually *reduce* the shear friction, which would be good for, say, limited slip differential chatter at low speeds and sharp turns, but bad for my syncro challenges!

Yes, better but not resolved is a good way to put it. I think using second gear is fine so long as I don’t rush it. Ferrari “charm” and part of the fun- learning to drive it well. I was also testing the “limits” on the test drive. I may try Swepco next.. maybe after another 2 years or 1,000 subscribers- whichever comes first!
