Wow, this came as a surprise to me 😳 As a Norwegian I find the Autopass system decent, but somewhat confusing. It definitely does not seem fair to charge €7 in fees for each ferry trip for those not having Autopass, and at the same time making it complex and difficult to sign an agreement 🤨
@tshansen

Yeah, I was a little bit surprised my self. I did understand that there would be a invoice fee, but for each ferry trip? not one for the one invoice that is sent after. That is robbery. And I saw a news rapport on this at NRK (I think) where they earned millions on speculating about this. Stuff like this discuss me! For us who live in Norway the autopass is so damn great. 👏🏻

Just to be clear, with just the AUTOPASS for Ferje account you are good to go for discounted prices? The web-site seems to suggest you must also have an AUTOPASS tag, which I'm not sure you can get for a motorcycle. Also, if I have an AUTOPASS for Ferje account and a FERRYPAY account will this cause confusion? Would I be billed on both, or just the AUTOPASS for Ferje when applicable and just on the FERRYPAY for any trips that are not covered by the AUTOPASS Ferje scheme?
@tshansen
Жыл бұрын
Well, there is no need for both agreements, you don't have a tag on the bike. But even without the discount, just make an account at ferry pay and save you a lot of trouble. The ferries are not that expensive, and you will use more time trying to get those 50% if you are not a Norwegian citizen. The ferries up north, full price is around 360,- NOK, that is 36 euro.

Ferrypay is just a place where you can register your credit card towards the licensplate on the vehicle so you don't get any invoice or invoice fee on your ferry rides here in Norway. You send 3000nok (for vehicle under 8m) to the IBAN with the KID as your reference and they automatically add it to your autopass ferry balance (without telling you so log in and check regularly). Bank addr wasn't needed. Also anyone UK, don't send via your bank, use 'Wise' who only charge £2 for international TX versus Lloyds who charge £12.

@tshansen

You have auto pass from flyt? That should give you 20% automatically in the car, not on the bike as far as i know. I’m not sure if I’m back home the 28 of august. Did you have anything specific in mind? Cheers ✌🏻

@@tshansen think most of the companys leaders at to old and dont think this thing work xD, i belive also that the fee is so high that they earn more with out the autopass, problem is that more ppl would drive on roads and dont experince the wonderfull countryside in a boat :)

Hi Thomas 🙂, I have a little problem. I used some ferries in Norway in June 2022 and when I back home I wanted to pay for it immediately. Unfortunately after make account on "ferrypay.no" and register my bike number there is no any ferry passes with my bike. I didn't make earlier account on "auto pass", "ferrypay" or something like that because I didn't know about this. Ferry workers said all the time "no possibility to pay with card or cash" and talked about "auto pass" or "ferrypay.no". So is it possible to pay for the ferries after use it (for example now)? I know it's been a long time since June of 2022… 😬 . I want to be clean with this payments. Thank You for answer. By the way... Norway is beautiful 🥰😍. Greetings from Poland 🙂

Hello Paul, I try to answer you the best I can. If you made an account at ferry pay after the trip, that wont help you out with this issue. Then you will get an invoice in the mail later, much later. I'm not sure what the timeframe is, but I heard stories about 1 year after the trip took place. Autopass and Ferrypay are to different things. If you made a ferry pay account before you went on this trip, it should be withdrawn from your card when you was in Norway. If so, and it did not happened, you can smile and laugh. You got away with the rides for free. Cheers

Thank You so much for fast and fully satysfying answer. On all used ferries, ferry workers were scan my id plates (and my colleague), so I thought I can pay for all ferries without any problems when I will come back home. I heared/read about that I will receive invoice with email/standard post to home address searched by id plates of motorbike but I didn't sure about that. Now, after Your answer, I thing all is clear for me. I will be waiting for invoice, because I want to pay for all that feries which I used. Again thank You very much for answer. I wish You all the best in New Year 2023. Greetings! Skål! 🙂
