The first defense with a left hand is an anti question mark kick defense. The second defense with right elbow sets you up for the question mark kick next time. Beauty of the fight game that nothing will work 100% of the time.

@Sub5PeruvianCel 1 is a generic kick that kicks threw multiple times in a fight. The question mark kick is nowhere near as prevalent in the fight game. Not to mention Liam is one I'd best fighters from the UK ever I'm taking his advice

Ive seen a simaliar concept in boxing where they say to parry the jab with your back hand and not your lead, because if you parry with your lead you leave your left side open, vs parrying with your back hand allows for you to block the next incoming attack or parry it with your lead hand
@BjarkeSchwartzJrgensen-ls1pi

Mr. Harrison you are an absolute legend🙏😎💪

Parrying with the hand can also be done with a step to the side with which the op kicked so if it's a fake he cannot capitalize. So we should compare those 2 variations of defense

Both have pros and cons. If you try to left hand parry the teep, but he fakes and tries to hit with the right cross, you can still parry with your own right hand. The downside to this version is that your right hand isn't there to protecr you if he fakes the teep but switches to a question mark kick (though can usuallu duck under it if you're good at bobbing and weaving). I like switching it up, and sometimes also parry with my same-side knee, and even accepting a lead-teep if I'm fairly certain I can catch it.

Can you do this for rear teeps / push kicks? I got eaten up last night by someone I should’ve ran circles around, but he kept spamming power push kicks off of both legs. I just stood there infront of him eating them then swinging at air on the counter. How can I make myself less likely to be a kicking bag for linear kicks, and if they do get them off, what else can I do to defend and counter??
