Look at where Bedard is looking while he does his speed stick handling drill. That's what makes him so special. He feels the puck on his stick. He uses the force.

That's what every decent player can do. You're not supposed to look at the puck when skating...

I'm sure I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this, but one of my favorite hockey memories was getting to see Chara during warmups, he seemed to focus a lot on his edgework. You don't realize how fleet of foot he was for such a big guy during normal game play. He could skate backwards REAL good. 😂

Dude yea. I’ve always loved that clip of him doing a spin-o-Rama and roofing it with his backhand, at 6’9 250 that’s crazy.

@@PAIN-pg8jn Yeah, I remember that!!! That was one of the few times I've seen him show off his skating skills during actual game play, it was so smooth and effortless. He was a lot younger back then though, lol. And the backhand finish was icing on the cake, easily the number one highlight of his goal scoring. I wonder if the goalie was just as shocked by the spin o rama as we were, lol.

Yeah I do toe drag taps, stickhandle for a bit and take some shots before every game pretty much the same as this just at a much lower level
@smorgdonkey

That is not what anyone calls a "toe drag". Yeah, it's the 'toe' of the stick I guess but a toe drag is the toe of the skate being dragged, generally to slow and change direction slightly.

Well I guess it's what everyone but you calls a "Toe Drag". It really is when you drag the puck with the toe of your stick.

Don't Canadians go clock wise at public session? In the Southern US we went counter clockwise at public skate (Id ask em to reverse the direction after they mid session Ice Cut to thin out the rink in buys times😀 and to get practice crossing over the other direction.) If you look 1/2 the team is going Clockwise and the other 1/2 counter Clockwise. I don't know all the players origins, so anyone???

Connor Bedard’s game is next-level - his hockey IQ, lethal shots, speed - it’s the full hockey package. Oh also,let’s face it, you can practically feel his desire to join Vancouver. While he’s making waves with the Hawks, the buzz is, he’s Vancouver-bound. Just imagine Bedard donning that iconic Canucks jersey. It’s not a matter of if, but when. Get ready for a hockey spectacle when Bedard brings his skill set to the Vancouver ice - it’s bound to be nothing short of legendary. The hawks franchise deserves nothing. Your dynasty was tarnished after that terrible news came out about Kyle Beach, that’s all I’m saying.
@ssang187

Keep telling yourself that buddy. Bedard isn’t going anywhere anytime soon if ever. Hawks are building around this kid. Connor’s a good, hardworking, dedicated and loyal young man. He’s sticking around Chicago for a long, long, long time. As for the Canucks, what legacy? A legacy of mediocrity and general insignificance sounds about right to me. Cool 80’s jerseys. That I’ll give you. At the end of the day though, if you wiped the Canucks franchise from the NHL’s historical record books, just all things Vancouver Canucks clean from NHL existence, outside of a little Pavel Bure action, no one outside of British Columbia notices and nothing in the hockey universe changes. If Bedard is ever one day a Canuck, it won’t be until he’s closer to 40 than he is 30. Kid’s 18. Take a seat pal. It’s gonna be a while.
