I worked in the construction business for more than 20 years and I can honestly say that I didn’t know most of these tips even though I had the same tools you used in this video. I knew about using the chalk box as a plumb bob, but, your right, it needs to be a quality version of the tool because the cheaper ones aren’t built as nicely and won’t be as accurate. Thanks for making this video and sharing these tips.

another trick loggers use to estimate the height of a tree, using the same principle. walk away from the tree or building. stop about where to think the tree height should be if it were laying on the ground. bend over looking between your legs until you see the top of the tree. when you find that spot. that is were the top of the tree will hit when it falls. try it it never fails.

Your 2nd tip is 1000 + yeas old, then they used an A frame and plumb bob or string with a weight on the end ,not knocking the speed square just an old thing that can be used in todays life
