Especially as a DM running 5th edition content it has been an incredibly stressful time trying to find lore on fairy-type stuff for the setting. I tried going to Wikipedia back in the day and it gives a very general overview of fairy Concepts, their odd rules in particular, but I couldn't really identify what you guys were able to lay out in this video. I will be taking a look at all of these things in great detail later, you guys have my appreciation.

I just follow the fey stuff that's in the dresden files. If you are the dm just make stuff up.

I would also highly recommend Tome of Beasts 1 and 2 (especially 1) which have a lot of neat fey creatures from Slavic and South Asian and East Asian folklores, but also have really powerful fey lords and ladies complete with interesting histories and information on their domains.

I picked up “journey into the feywild” which takes a lot from Dresden files. Goes over the fey courts, talks about seelie and unseelie, etc some cool stat blocks

I know it’s a different TTRPG, but Changeling: The Lost has a great description of Fae/Fey creatures and how they are different from mortals, though it goes a bit darker than the Witchlight Carnival. There’s a lore introduction video on KZitem that could be great inspiration for the villains of TWBtW

I was thinking of making a one shot or maybe a smaller campaign based around fey, and entirely in a tavern. It would basically be hotel california, but with fey. Any thoughts?

@web DM Can you guys do a Monster character RP series? (Lizardfolk, etc.) I think it'd be a great idea to see your guys perspectives on the 'alien' cultures and how they different from normal society for the humanoids and the different hooks. Love all the content you guys do, big fans! Especially like the Roleplaying and the DM stuff. (Not enough DM content out there. And happy you guys didn't jump on the 'OMG OP RATE SUBCLASS' bullshit that goes around. D&D is about fun my dudes. Keep it real.

The public domain artists mentioned are Arthur Rackham and John Tenniel, for anyone wondering about the spelling. Not necessarily exactly like Alice in Wonderland or Beyond the Looking Glass, but for TTRPG's, I feel like it makes sense for some stuff to not make as much sense, in an evocative way which lets the players know they are in someone's fantastical domain. Their swinging swords might turn into bread, or even trade places with a fey creature.
