The Lego nature of Fiats is part of why I love them! Also, I highly recommend getting "Fiat size" tools. Owning ridiculously tiny tools has saved me in a tight spot ot three

Well done Jim a great repair! I used to love my mk2 panda a 1987 1000s was so easy to take apart and put together I upgraded it with several bits from newer cars

That made a big difference in a short time. Well done! Those seat covers don't look that hard wearing, but they do seem to last quite well. Our 2003 Active seats (in Yellow!) are just dirty, not ripped or torn.

You see Jim the thing is like you I am a FIAT fanboy but when I had company cars it was a no go. Then I bought my own but was of the opinion that being the Dad in a family it was just impractical. Then I remember the day about 15 years ago when we were in a static caravan in Christchurch ( Dorset not the exotic one ) and one day next door there turned up a black one with a top box and Dutch plates on it. The next day came its identical twin in the next van along. Then there's the guy who goes to my local Lidl in his 100bhp with his family ...... and a tow bar. He pulls a small trailer with all the camping gear in it...... oh and its on 120k miles + It seems where there's a will there's a way. I have a Duster I am very happy with but daughter is starting driving lessons and the wife tells her when she passes she can have her Matiz and she will get a replacement car ......... some marital influencing about to take place lol

It's kinda sad that Fiat are not the new Dacia as they used to really fit that role, super practical and a little bit cheaper than the competition

@@alsodriven I agree - I had a mate who had a rusty FIAT 128 in the 80's( weren't they all? ) then a 127 so I got married the first time and bought a brand new Uno -then THAT wife got a Panda. For me that was peak FIAT - contemporaries were just not as good and it was only when I got my hands on a 205 XE (?) a car that Sion would drool over - super spartan with a 950cc engine - did I meet my Uno's match.
