I’ve had fibro for around twenty years. I carry a folding cane, and sometimes use an elbow crutch. Depending on your financial situation, they do have wheelchairs that are lighter, and have manual electric assist on them. You still push the wheels with your hands, and the electric motors on the wheels, give you that extra push. Hang in there, I know it can get tough sometimes. ✌️

Thank you for sharing your experience with me, and for your encouragement! I had no idea about that kind of wheelchair. I will certainly have to look into it. Well wishes to you and your health

I used a roll walker chair that was in hot rod red but that tended to stress my shoulders, and for a while I had a modified foot powered scooter to ride around instead. That was so fun. Big stores have those power chairs for a reason. Love those. Don't need any of them anymore now that I'm in remission. I can go on hikes and dance again. I did a video on how I managed chronic pain that is seriously outdated, (2 years) and a 'what I ate today' video that shows my new body. (This year). Top tip...Assistive devices are KEY and should never cause shame...I made a point of not being ashamed of my devices.

I just got diagnosed with fibro after 16 years of suffering. I have 2 single-point canes (one that folds), a quad cane and two types of walkers (a rollator and a 2-wheeled that was my mom's postsurgical walker). I find that mobility aids enhance my quality of life even though it's sometimes embarrassing to use them due to ableism. It's not bad being disabled, but I'm hoping medication and physical therapy will help me cope with impairments caused by this disease.

You're so cute and I'm totally going to name my assistive devices now. I have a shiny metallic purple cane :)
