Often we are no longer aware that we are constantly accompanied by a background noise. Airplanes, street noise, industry and man-made noise pollution significantly exceed the natural background noise, even in many nature reserves. Noise pollution is often viewed as an urban problem, but the expanding development through people and activities in rural areas increase the reach...we have almost forgotten what silence actually means and how important it is for us humans and for nature with all its living beings and life forms. Critical noise pollution has also increased in the habitats of endangered animal and plant species. Even if plants are not directly affected, many animals and insects that spread their seeds or pollinate their flowers can be affected by noise, causing indirect effects on plants and habitats. As a Field Recordist and in my work for Nature Conservation, I often face this problem. For this reason, it is important and necessary for me to point out these changes in order to sensitize people to them. We should monitor this change closely. We have already lost too many such areas in recent years. Despite all this, we can still find the wonderful natural sound of nature.
