Day 6 "Fields of Yellow" original tune, title track from the 2005 double-album "Fields of Yellow" Travelling back-and-forth to Wainwright for years in rural Alberta in the summer, every time I see a yellow Canola field I reflect on the year that's passed, the year that's coming and mostly, just staying present. It's good to pause when traveling and walk into fields to smell the smells and feel the feels. Even more poignant as we all get anxious about coming out of the pandemic, but also about looking about and seeing the beautiful short life we live together. This song has been around a long time and has added to its own sense of presence and intimacy and how our relationships save us. Breathe me. Heal me. Stay safe all!

Lyrics to Fields of Yellow
====================
I do remember. Fields of Yellow.
Hands of stone wrapped around the call of the dawn.
Life strangely twists around.
Eventually makes a sound.
Claw your way back around,
soft sand stands loosely on the ground
Do what you wanna do, Be what you wanna be
We’ve got this moment now, honey, Just you and me,
You and me, You and me, You and me
Breath me, heal me, now
I can imagine, Lights of colour.
Calling out now, c’mon,
slow down, stumble over the wire
Life strangely twists around
Eventually makes a sound
Claw your way back around,
soft sand stands loosely on the ground
