I'm a fan of both fighters, and think they are equally matched, no one else was on their level here. If their ages were reversed, GGG would have got the wins. It's all about who can bring in the most money for a longer period of time. Canelo has more prime years left in him, so they favor him. I think GGG won the first, Canelo the second, and a trilogy was needed for the tie breaker.

I didn't care who won this fight, this was 2 warriors boxing and I enjoyed the whole fight!

In this fight , Canelo had overcome his fear of Golovkin. He matched him toe to toe and punched back hard as he got. Golovkin's face was evidence that no other boxer had hurt him like Canelo.

That was one hell of a fight ! I'm not able to say that either won of them lost. I felt it was dead even.

The fact Canelo put the pressure on GGG and being able to absorb those punches, is amazing. No one else would have done that

Have you ever see a more even fight between two outstanding boxers. Only problem was they both have chins of concrete to nobody was going to get knocked out despite the accuracy and power punches going down. A boxing demo, very classy and really a draw again.

Canelos ability to dodge punches with his head movement won this fight alone. They both threw an outrageous amount of power punches

GGG has always inspired me to box, so he will always be my favorite boxer, but in this fight which was so so close, I would say it was a draw maybe but the majority decision for Canelo wasn’t a bad decision, I can see why he won but it was really really close, but all you Canelo fan boys got to be real now, in the first fight GGG won 100%

It’s hard to imagine that ggg will win the third fight because of Canelo’s momentum , he’s had 4 fights in a year and did it in fashion but def GGG won the first and almost felt like he won the last two rounds of the second fight , a draw would’ve been better . Damn, I've watched a lot of boxing. It is rare to see a match where two guys just make an honest slug fest out of 12 rounds like this. Almost like watching a movie boxing match, just clean hits all the time. Amazing they were both able to keep it going that long.

That 12 round was the closest thing we’ll ever get to a movie type fight in real life. The movement, the intensity, the absolute quality and experience, the punches, misses and drama. It was the single best round of boxing of the decade.

Golovkin was unlucky to lose that ... looking back on it I'd say another draw. Canelo lucky it wasnt old school 15 rounds. Both in a class of their own.

I watched this fight 3 times and each time with a different set of eyes and perspective here is my take away from this gladiator clash R1- Canelo sneaky counters and flush body punishment R2- Canelo Sneaky left hooks finding home with set up’s to the chin leaving GGG to slow to respond R3- Complete Draw arguably the best round R4- GGG great counters and inside punishing with short staggering uppercuts also great footwork to escape the traps Canelo was back to back to back setting up R5- Canelo frustration was setting into GGG constantly eating those jabs and sneaky hooks to the chin R6- GGG all the way from Beginning to end he was hit but returned fire with some devastating body punches and sneaky uppercuts on the inside this was really setting in to Canelo as he kept moving moving and moving to see a weak point in later rounds but GGG discipline showed none R7- GGG He hurt Canelo again with those jabs paired with those uppercuts R8- GGG Fatigue was setting in on canelo visibly this was leading to more openings for GGG as he started to let his hands down more and more into the later rounds and at one point looked like Canelo wanted to give up R9-GGG he continued the onslaught but did it cunningly watch this round with a close eye and see the footwork, inside control and counters. Canelo speed slowed down tremendously R10- GGG again from the beginning bell he walked Canelo down visibly both exhausted but GGG landing the bigger shots, Canelo came back with some major major body work coming to the closing of the round R11 & R12 Debatable considering both was extremely exhausted and devoted to a slug fest I had this as a draw evenly but I can see how the decision was given to Canelo he did some beautiful work in the earlier stages in the fight however GGG did some beautiful work in the later rounds with stalking Canelo and seeing Canelo do what he can to fend him off. All in all in my book a masterful fight definitely a classic.

One of my favorite fights ever, 2 monsters battling out, you never see either of them run around, both of them fighting for control. Dodging and countering. Taking hits and giving them back. Just amazing. Canelos opponents nowadays all strategize their fights over distance, GGG fought him 1v1 and it’s just a beauty of a fight. Mexican style.

We all know Alvarez dodged GGG… and we know why… first fight , GGG and second fight is a draw for me. It is what is and they are two magnificent fighter regardless of the inevitable fight game politics and plays.. I do feel it’s a shame that GGG isn’t going to get the same recognition as Saul… but real hardcore boxing fans know that triple G is all time great up in the top 5 best middle weights

It blows my mind that GGG beat Canelo in both fights, but the outcome was both in Alvarez's favor. Canelo has been busted juicing, & he's notoriously known for illegally altering his gloves and his wraps to do more damage to his opponents. Many respectable high level boxers have no respect for Canelo bc of his cheating. I don't either.
