Жыл бұрын
I like GSP, but It wasn't really time off. Thousands of miles away in another country, and just 24 hours earlier a WADA/USADA committee was being held to discuss the new PED testing protocols. This meeting was really significant as it was the first one where all parties finally came to an agreement and decided right there and then to begin testing on athletes in the coming weeks to months. It was suspicious that GSP who happened to be an advocate for the new testing protocol and was on board with the idea for years while the committee was at odds trying to figure things out. Once it was figured out, on that date, the Friday before the GSP vs Hendricks PPV and it went to press, GSP retired literally 24 hours later. Shocking the world really. And remained gone for 4 years and still did not stay in the testing pool longer than a few months time when he returned for the Bisping fight. Anyone who knows about PED's knows that most guys don't get caught off one test usually. It's after they have established their own personal base line numbers, after several test spanning years with USADA, that the moment a deviation comes up in those predictable numbers, something is wrong. I am not out right saying he used PED's. But his behavior is suspicious and he went on Rogan and even said he wasn't against PED's personally, He even described the best ways for someone to dodge detection. Its all very suspicious. He was a great fighter for sure, but to believe he beat everyone else who many say were on something, and to do it at the level he did it does make you think. Especially his timing to retire.
