Wow, very encouraging to see figs starting to develop so quickly after pruning, Brett! It’s a shame the warm weather will be over by the time I get back lol. Back to cooler temperatures and rain from Friday onwards, typical 😂

Haha you won’t get much sympathy from me Peter as you are lounging around in the Mediterranean 😂😂. Yes I wasn’t expecting to see embryo figs appear so quickly. It’s really scorching hot today 🥵

@@lyonheart84 ah great, that means it will be a furnace in my greenhouse 😭. The first thing I’ll be doing when I get back tomorrow will be checking on the plants in the greenhouse.

@@lyonheart84 oh wow, that’s warmer than it’s been here in Spain lol. Although I suppose it depends if the car has been sat in the sun or not. The local forecast for my area back home was showing up to 25°C today. So likely around that plus or minus a degree or so. But in a greenhouse closed up, I reckon it might have reached close to 50°C 😱. I’m expecting some very droopy and crispy plants when I get back 😬

What a shame nobody watered them although normally they are quite drought tolerant 😁

i pruned my fig tree in january i thought i had ruined it at first and the tree was long gone and it is now crowded with new branches that came out everywhere. and It's full of figs some thick ones too and its looking promising definitely wouldn't hesitate to do it next time hence it was my first

Sometimes you just have to prune them hard to control the size and shape. They always come back strongly. It’s best to prune them when dormant in winter of course. The only downside of pruning hard is that sometimes you remove all of the breba crop. Of course depending on the variety and where you are based, you may still get main crop figs 😁
