Here’s a couple of milestones that need to be reached by humanoid robots: * Learn to walk. Not by human generated code-actually learn using a neural net * Do an hour of productive work. Not loading eggs into egg cookers or K-cups into Keurig machines-something you would pay another human being to do. And not working with 2 dedicated supervisors watching it most of the time.

These robots are most likely trained in simulation with deep reinforcement learning to walk, and they can already operate for hours at a time unloading trucks, so it's looking like both milestones have been met.

I love them. I worry that they are being used solely for industrial use, and so they don't have decision over what happens to them. I would like to hear more about the biocentric EI. ( You guys know it's not metal nuts and bolts anymore right?) They are alive now

Bill Gate's belief that we can easily stay ahead of any potential problems with his A-I bothers me. In testing we have already determined there are potential problems we have yet to properly address.

Great, early retirement for everyone! :) The sooner the AI and robots take over all of the jobs - the better. Poverty will be solved. Also 40-80% of people don't like their jobs. We all need a few Optimus robots per person and it will be the end of human labor forever. Unless you want to work and create something of course. :) The transition period - the next 15 years - that might be tough though. Hope we will find a solution as fast as possible. Deflation in prices of goods and services is one of the best options for starters. Things should be cheaper if humans are not making them.

Everyone worried about humanoids. What until you see the non human robots that will have many various shapes and functions that outdo anything.

One charging for 5 hours running is not enough, with new battery innovation should easily be 12 hours. And hopefully they hide all those exposing wires.

Years from now we'll look back on this robotics era and say, "What the hell were we thinking?" The reality is that machines to automate processes have always been around, see vehicle assembly lines. They just don't need to look like humanoids to be efficient. Put these things in the public and they'll be damaged / stolen for valuable parts. Put them in a factory and they'll cost 50x more than just paying a minimum wage worker and require constant supervision + routine maintenance / calibration / updating. This ain't it.

So, if they are going to replace the majority of people's jobs and incomes, what happens to those people and your childrens futures, to make a super rich even richer? This is a dystopian nightmare.

"replicates human finger motion and dexterity and even excedes at it" Yes, if that human is a tetraplegic... How can someone claim such a thing and then show a video where a robot moves his fingers in such a slow manner?! This AI videos are such BS, is obvious that this stuff is ultra exaggerations and lies, to get money from dumb, no clue investors.
