Crunchy on the outside, plump and juicy shrimp on the inside.
Twice the size of the Ebi Katsu Burger at a Japanese McDonald's.
Incredibly satisfying with a homemade tartar sauce.
Servings: Makes 2 burgers
☆Ingredients:
Shrimp patties
- 300g Shrimp
- 1 tbsp Starch
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp White pepper
- 3 tbsp Flour
- 1 Egg
- 1/3 cup Bread crumbs
Tartar sauce
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Sweet pickle relish
- 1/8 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/8 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp Lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Sugar
- 1/8 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Dill weed
☆Instructions:
1. Cut half of the shrimps into rough chunks. Mince the other half of the shrimps into a fine paste.
2. In a bowl, mix the minced shrimp, starch, salt, and white pepper. Mix in the shrimp chunks until evenly incorporated. Divide the shrimp dough in half.
3. Pat the air out of each shrimp dough and shape into round patties. Place onto a floured plate or pan. Cover and freeze for 15 minutes.
4. In a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients to make tartar sauce.
5. Take out shrimp patties and fully coat them in flour, then coat in egg wash, then in bread crumbs.
6. Heat oil in a frying pan to 350-365°F. Fry patties for 2-3 minutes each side until golden brown.
7. Assemble the burger: Spread tartar sauce on toasted burger buns, top with shrimp patty, top with green leaf lettuce, finish with top bun. Enjoy while warm.
