@@chadssilversmithing Hi Chad, I was wondering if you can do something with silver and copper. I want to do some silver pendants with coppers accents. Wondering if you can maybe show some techniques. Thanks, Chris

@@puresas I will try to incorporate some copper and brass in some upcoming projects. One fun thing I’ve done before is take a thickish piece of silver sheet and a piece of copper sheet, use a disc cutter to punch out various circles in interesting configurations, and then, using discs cut from the copper sheet, plug the cut out holes in the silver and solder them in. Grind away any excess solder, and either texture or polish for a cool inlaid copper look.

Love this pendant and Lamar. I have a bunch of it to use. I finally figured out you remind me of Bob Ross with your voice and how you do your videos.

Chad I love this one. I had a thought with the center bottom how about a small step bezel with a little faceted moissanite? Or maybe at top? What do you think?

Super pretty 🤩. I was wondering how you established the curve for laying out the 2-14 gauge round wires for constructing the filigree?
@chadssilversmithing
Жыл бұрын
Hello Van. I measured and cut each one, and I curved them both until the ends of each were close enough to reasonably connect while maintaining the same distance between them along the whole length. I think slight variations in bend and length may just change how steeply the base is sloped, but I haven’t tried doing it differently yet:). Thanks for the question:)

Hello 👋🏼 thanks for sharing Why do u use fine silver for bazel? Is a stone not getting loose by time? I thought it is better to use Sterling silver instead. I am just asking becoz i am just a beginner.
@chadssilversmithing
Жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! Generally it is harder to get a secure, tight fit, because Sterling is a little less malleable. It doesn’t generally loosen over time.

Chad I use the same torch that you use and I’m getting a bright yellow flashing and can’t get a blue cone. Can you tell me what I need to do to get my cone back?

Hello Connie. My guess is that some flux may have gotten in your tip. If you clean it, it may resolve the issue. I could swear I just saw a video about cleaning torch tips on KZitem. You might try searching that and see if that helps.

After it is all assembled, I soak it for a while in picklesafe which is an acid solution to clean it up before polishing. It hope this answers your question Sheila. Thanks for the comment!
