Thank you for sharing the recipe. I followed your recipe to the T, and the results.......super delicious! Texture was firm and just the right level of sweetness. Did my 2nd flan 2 hours ago for tomorrow's dessert.

Wow, great recipe! Thanks for showing us how to make the caramel: resisting the temptation to stir is not easy! Also, thanks for showing how to separate the yolks from the whites. Your flan turned out great! I am sure it was hard to resist the temptation to dig in. Thanks for sharing. Subbed for more!

I keep thinking I need an instant pot, but I cook for 1 so quick and easy for me. Carmel and key lime are my 2 favorite food groups. 😝.

Throw a can of sweetened condensed milk in the pot with a cup of water and a tin foil lid. 30 minutes and it’s a awesome caramel sauce.

@@DadGotThis so open the can, cover with a foil lid like you did in this video, and pressure cook the covered can in a cup of water? I’m still a noob at this so I want to double check. Great video btw; keep it up!

I made this at 5pm last night. When it came out of the IP it was still just a runny soup like it was when it went in. I put it in the fridge and just hoped for the best. Looked at it this morning (14 hours later) and it's still soup. Hoping that it's setup when I get home tonight. I followed the recipe exactly so I don't know what went wrong. I see so many recipes that call for the whole egg but this is just the yoke?
@DadGotThis

Yes it is just the yolk for this flan. The only thing I can think happened is that the unit did not pressurize for some reason.

Hi Dad, what would be the time in a 3 qt instantpot? Do I do a quick release too? 6 qt is 1000 watt and 3 qt is 700 watt. I’ll also use a 6” inner pOt that works with my 3 qt. Please help asap. 🤞🙏🥺

@@darcywagner3233 all right! FYI, if you’re not already using them I also recommend farm fresh eggs. I made this with eggs I bought from my friend who works at a local farm. I’ve learned they are so rich compared to eggs from the store (even the ones labeled organic). Also, the reviews from my friends emphasized the smoothness of the flan so the strainer was more important than I thought. Enjoy!

There is actually a gadget called egg separator that actually works I’ve been using for more than 40 years. And you misspelled FLIP on this video 😉

Too much eggs will give you an eggy taste flan, 🤮 .. Just put 2 tablespoons of Pure Vanilla Extract, to cut off 🥚 eggy flavor
